For A New Friend

YouTube Uploaded by davidryle on Sep 25, 2011

"A generative piece. Totally self contained in the modular synth. I start it with a push button on the Q119 sequential controller. The Q119 is the volume envelope for the entire piece. The Q960 sequencer controls a few envelopes for the drone and various steps output gates to start events coming from the other sound sources. A triple set of CGS Harmonic Sequencers and a noise source are the different voices. Gated switch modules are opened with two Q962 Sequential Switches as limits on the step gates from the Q960.

This patch was inspired by a few discussions of generative patches from the MuffWiggler's forum. My goal was to invent a patch that was entirely hands-off and contained many elements which happened automatically over a longer period.

A long time friend and new acquaintance dropped by for a visit so I included his welcomed appearance with this title. Thanks Brian!"

Dual 16 Channel Analog Sequencer With Ratcheting MB16XLC1 In A/B Synth

via this auction
"16 channel control voltage adjustment knobs, channels 1 thru 16. Bank A, and Bank B.

Each bank has it's own scan and return select, 2 thur 16. Sync bank switch 1X 2X 4X 8X, they will allow you to select both 16 channels to scan in sync or you can select other options to randomize the sequencer. Reset A, Reset B, Clock reset, reverse select.

On the input select you can select to CV out A/B or choose the line in, that will allow you to send in a pulse of your own and it will scan in sequence with this unit.

You can use either banks to operate complete independant or choose to send any of the 16 outputs to the other sequencer for the ratcheting effect.

Clock select for either banks can be selected via control switch. There is so many options I still have not experimented with 1/5th of them."

"I have created and sampled ten different presets on my OP-1 synthesizer and placed them into an Ableton Live Instrument Rack. The OP-1 is an amazing synthesizer/workstation and this rack is intended to give a sampling of some of its potential.
