elsa iOS sampler

Published on Mar 31, 2014 humbletune·54 videos

"I love samplers, but I wasn't completely happy with how most of my samplers work, mostly in terms of looping. So, I thought I would attempt to make my own and try to make it more playable.. Anyway, this is the result.

The way it works is that it looks at the note being played and makes the sample length shorter or longer depending on this. There are also some effects, bit crush (you know me), reverb and a resonant low pass filter.

It also comes with audiobus, core midi and ACP 2.0."

iTunes: e-l-s-a - Erik Sigth

"Elsa is a retro style sampling keyboard with tempo based looping. Record, save, load, reverse samples with a multi octave on screen keyboard or plug in your core midi device of choice, soft- or hardware. Elsa comes with three built in effects, a reverb, a resonant low pass filter and a frequency/bit crush. Samples are looped in three different modes, one off, forward and/or forward-reverse. The start and end of playback also comes in three modes, one set of start and stop for all, one set per note and/or one set per octave, allowing for many different types of samples. Additionally at playback time, sample length can also be controlled by a set of sample dividers, 1-8.

"Just a little video to demonstrate the functionality of this machine for an eBay auction. You have volume control over the bass drum, snare/rim/toms, conga, calves/cowbell and cymbal/hihat. There's a master volume and an accent volume. With the register knob you can switch between two rhythms, including all the extra's you 'programmed', such as hihat 16ths or open hihats, etc. You can have automated breaks after two bars or more, or trigger them manually. It has a trigger output, and this unit has a din sync output (normally only it's big brother CR-8000 has this) to synchronize with a TR-606 etc."

Memory Moog Plus with flight case

" The "plus' was the later version of the Memory Moog, and the tuning is much more stable on these; all voices tune when the autotune button is pressed. The plus also has factory MIDI. I have the original owners manual with it, as well as a custom made Anvil road case. However, as is the case with most used gear, I am offering no warranty, guarantee, or return on this item.

The Memory Moog was the first Moog with a programmable memory- it was Moog's answer to the Prophet V. It was their top of the line synth at the time, (outside of the modular beasts), and is packed with features, including a great sequencer and the familiar killer Moog low pass filter. Cosmetically, this particular synth has the most beautiful wood grain I've ever seen on any synth ( see the photos). It is a freakish thing the way the color changes from light to dark- almost like a sunburst guitar top. It has been lovingly cared for and maintained over the years, but I am no longer playing much, so although I hate to part with this treasure. it's time to cash it in..."

"All suonds from the LEM BIT 99 (the same of Crumar BIT 99), just the percussion sounds come from protools software. This can give you an idea of this fantastic 80s Italian synth. "Fantasmagorie" by Émile Cohl widely considered to be the first fully animated film ever made. Music played via MIDI with a Crumar BIT 99, an 80s Italian analogue synth."

According to the listing the video above was made using this synth.  Wish the pics were a little bit bigger.  I don't recall seeing the gold Programmable Voices list on the Bit 99 before.

Koma Elektronik BD101 Analog Delay and Gate Pedal

"Koma Elektronik BD101 Analogue Delay with 'Hard Gate'.

This pedal offers users more tweakable on the fly options than nearly any delay pedal I have seen/used. Too much to list or copy and paste so here is the 'tagline' from Koma and a link to their website:

'Mangle and cut apart your sound with an innovative voltage controlled analog delay circuit in combination with a fully adjustable wide frequency range gate!'

http://koma-elektronik.com/?product=bd101-analog-gate-delay

A few things I will say, this pedal incorporates its own CV output by way of the three infra reds in the bottom right corner of the pedal. These act as emitters and receivers judging distance/depth. This can then be used to control any parameter of the pedal via the onboard patchbay or another pedal (I've used it to control INFANEM gear, analog delays and Eventide gear to name but a few).

This pedal is really quite special and amazing fun with a synth/iPad or guitar pedals. Lots of functionality and great sounds.

Moog Source Analog Synthesizer SN 2116 Project Machine Minus Panel Membrane

Kind of interesting to see what's under the panel membrane. What's curious is the seller states he drilled the two holes you see.  That leaves the question of how the original membrane connects to the synth engine.  Details via the listing:

"I bought this Source a while ago. It came to me with various parts of the membrane panel not working. All of the analog components work, and I was able to mess around a bit shaping sounds. However, to gain full access to all the parameters, the membrane needed to be replaced.

Instead, I decided to build a whole new switch panel using normal push button switches. However, I’ve come to realize a project like this is more than I have time for. As it sits, it literally just needs a new membrane panel installed. The only modification I did was drill the two holes you see on top of the chassis. This was to be for the wiring harness of the new switch panel. If a new membrane panel gets installed, these holes will not interfere with any membrane switch function.

The only other detail is that the three wooden pieces that surround the keybed need to be reglued in place. They are fully intact, but the original glue had just crumbled when I took apart the board.

For those not in the know - the Source is the closest sounding thing to the original Minimoog! I was pleasantly surprised, when I first messed around with it, at just how accurate that statement really is. It doesn’t have a third oscillator like the Model D, but it does have a dedicated LFO, sequencer, arpeggiator and sample + hold functions!

Obviously, this board is sold as is, AS A PROJECT. I won’t accept and returns or give refunds. Please understand what you’re getting into making this purchase!"
