The Harvestman Kermit Dual Modulation Aid Eurorack Module Now Available

Audio test here.

"Kermit is a dual modulator with multi-purpose CV inputs and several different operating modes. Optimized for LFO duties, each half of Kermit offers control over amplitude (like a digital VCA), frequency, or waveshape (smoothly morphing over 16 waves). A dedicated 1v/octave CV input is available for precise frequency generation. A bonus "tap tempo" mode is available where this input accepts gate signals, where the oscillator will loosely imitate the input frequency with adjustable multiplication or division. The module can operate at audio rates for use as a utility oscillator.

Two sets of outputs are provided to correctly modulate both analog and digital circuits (such as the special 0-5V inputs available on Harvestman modules). The bipolar output is nominally 10v peak-peak. The unipolar output goes from 0 to 5 volts. The amplitude control correctly affects each style of output. The output of each oscillator is normaled to the CV input of the opposite unit, allowing patchcord-free chaotic modulation with several different modulation destinations available.

The basic waveforms are of high resolution for better performance at very low frequencies."

"Haven't done one of these for ages, been too long. This was huge fun. Thanks all for subscribing :)

Tech Notes for synthnerds:
Drums are Volca Beats through the Minibrute's filter being modulated by the 'brute's internal arp and lfo and controlled in real time. The 4 on the floor kick that comes in later is from the Electribe ESX-1.

There are 2 main arpeggiators running, both using Logic X's arp midi effect but with different settings:
One controls the Voyager, Volca Keys and Volca bass, (the Volcas being used as sound modules, not using their internal sequencers), but all 3 have different mod sources affecting their cutoff freqs and different delay effects.

The second controls the Doepfer Dark Energy which makes the throaty glassy distorted sound, and also has it's filter contolled by the Dark Time sequencer. The Dark time sequence also controls the cutoff of the Voyager but inverted using the Moog CP-251.

The pad is Omnisphere, using the Orb interface on the iPad to make it swirl. I'm not ashamed to say it's a preset, because Spectrasonics' presets are works of art - it's called Mercury Rising if you want to play aound with it yourself."

"Ross Bencina's wonderful AudioMulch is used to create this simple groove."

Although AudioMulch supports VSTs, none were used on this track. It features Ross' 303 emulator with default drum samples that come with the software.

"This unit has had its internals serviced this year, this included cleaning all of the pots and replacing all of the capacitors. All functions are working perfectly. I will include the original spiral bound manual, a custom made, high quality S-trig (cinch Jones) to V- Trig (1/4) Cable and a small homebrew V to S trig box too- (not pretty, but it works well!). You will need the cable to connect and trig converter box if you want to control the unit via CV/Gate. Physically the synth is in very good condition, the case is very clean with exception of a dented corner on the right side (see pic) that has bent the metal trim a bit, and some spots on the rear of the unit where it looks like cables that were hanging down wore the paint off the Metal. Keyboard is a bit clanky, but its should be relatively inexpensive to have it refurbished. All of these issues are rather minor when you consider this unit was made in the mid 70s. Unit has been calibrated, but may need to be calibrated a bit once received due to the nature of analog synths from this period."

"Everything on the synth is original. It has the updated oscillator board that Bob Moog preferred. There is a debate on what board is "better". The old or new Osc board. I remember when the they were updated and they were a godsend for playing with any sort of precision. Don't worry the new board still drifts and has the Moog magic. The difference is pretty slight."
