A Comparison of ARP Filter Modules via The Analog Lab

via The Analog Lab

"It’s interesting to see the progression of ARP’s filter design when these are lined up next to each other. Being an early model, 4012 is mainly discrete transistor pairs. The 4023 is a 12db/octave filter based around 2 CA3080s and was used in the earliest ARP Odysseys. The 4034, used in the Pro Soloist, is a transistor ladder filter using CA3086s. For the sake of comparison, we included an ARP 4075 in the pic. It’s one of the later and most widely used of the ARP filters (used in Odysseys, Omnis, etc). This is based on a LM3900 quad Norton amplifier (this is a specialized op amp) with discrete matched transistor pairs."

Vermona VSR3 vintage spring reverb test

Published on Oct 22, 2014 alternatingbitmusic

"A mini demo of how adding a spring reverb to any sound/sequence no matter how simple or complex can create a great sound environment. Though mono, the spring reverb uses actual metal springs to create an organic, almost unpredictable feel. Happy to add this unit to my portable modular box."

"The keyboard powers up but does not load the floppy disk. It appears that the motor in the floppy drive is bad. Please check out the video to see what is happening during the power on sequence. Notice that there is floppy communication (indicated by the red LED light) but it doesn't sound like the floppy is spinning. The unit is in great shape for its age, cosmetically (see photos). Included with the keyboard is the volume pedal, as well as the original manual. The original LCD was replaced with a very bright backlit display! This Emulator II has been upgraded to an Emulator II+ (1 MB of memory installed to allow two sample banks to be loaded, complete with the Rev. 1 Digital Board and EII+ Mainboot Eprom)."

These will work with the HxC floppy emulator as seen in some previous posts here.

"Vintage Rare ELI CR-7030 preset drum machine in good working and cosmetic order.
240v mains version (adjustable to 110v).

Believed to be the first unit to use the term 'Beatbox' and "Compurhythm'- little info on the unit but either ELI copied Roland or vice versa. This is made in Taiwan so I would say it was based on the Roland drum machines.

Has 28 of the usual standard preset rhythms, Volume and Balance dials, also a dial for the Guiro instrument setting.

Adjustable speed setting and tempo, Rolling feature which provides drum rolls, switchable voltage to 110v if required (useful if touring the USA with it)"
