Cloud Infestation

Published on Feb 27, 2016 S. B. Arweiler

"Ambient soundscape. This recording uses a wide Stereo image, so listening on headphones might be a good idea.

Patch notes (not complete):
Mutable Instruments Braids in WTX4 mode goes through the 4ms SMR which is CV controlled by several envelopes (Intellijel Quadra and Make Noise Maths and Function) and a MusicThing Turing-Machine sequence . Both outs of the SMR go into Mutable Instruments Clouds in granular mode.

Evaton Technologies RF Nomad goes through a Make Noise Optomix which is plucked by a gate from Maths for some noisy percussion. Some additional percussion by Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteratis through a Doepfer A-124 Wasp Filter.

A rain sample played on one MusicThing Radio Music goes through the Pittsburgh Modular Filter and via Doepfer A-138d through the Electro-Harmonix POG2 and then through the Make Noise Erbe-Verb.

The second Radio Music provides some sampled chords in the second part of the recording.

Master clock and lots of triggers by Tiptop Circadian Rhythms; even more triggers by ALM Pamela’s Workout in Euclidean Mode. Several envelopes and LFOs by Make Noise Maths and Function, Intellijel Quadra, and Pittsburgh Bender. Also: Lots more utilities and VCAs, sequencing by Make Noise RenĂ©, Brains + Pressure Points, and Turing Machine. Some manual modulation via two Pressure Points and Circadian Rhythms.

Gear used:
- Eurorack modular
- Pedals: Electro-Harmonix Cathedral, Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Boy, Electro-Harmonix POG2

"Another video of my MF-104M this time with one of my Minimoogs. Playing in time with the repeats is fun... also the modulation of the repeats adds some quirky weirdness. There are seem to be a zillion ways to set this thing... :)"

Dave Smith Instruments/Oberheim OB-6 Demos by Two Quiet Suns

"Some recordings from my patch creation sessions for the mighty DSI/Oberheim OB-6.

These are all edited from 20+ hours of recordings as I created patches for the Factory Bank and as such are not demonstrations or proper demos just snippets of long recordings of me tweaking and tweaking.

These are not performances and I am not a pianist by any stretch of the imagination.
I am just a guy who makes patches for synths."

"If you like my stuff, please support me on http://music.ollilab.com

So, I also want to have some laid back ambient'ish track on the album.. something that can be used as an epilogue. 96bpm, slow, dreamy, and noisy.. i will clean up the 16 track edit if it ends up on the album as i did not mute the synths not in use.. also the noise floor is pretty high due to the massive reverbs used... so, it is what it is when you listen to the 2 track edit. Enjoy! :)

Gear Used: KORG volca bass, keys, sample, Novation Circuit, ms-20 mini, SQ-1, Elektron Analog Four, Roland Aira TR-8, System-1, TB-3, Arturia Microbrute, Roland boutique JX03, Nord Lead A1

FX and Mixer: PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2, KORG kaoss pad, strymon timeline, SolidgoldFX electroman, Zoom MS70 CDR, Jomox t-resonator, Mooer Reecho"

"Amazing six voice analogue poly synth. Big CEM sound! Basically like a cross between an OBX and an OBXa. Great overall shape with some scratches and scuffs here and there. But super clean overall. Sound is amazing. Get one of these and have yourself an OBXa for half the price. If you search there is a midi interface for this being sold out of Germany.

May need slight adjusting, one filter seems slightly too bright to my ears, easy adjustment with internal trimmers.

Looks like it has some foam rash on the back of it. Could be cleaned off easily. All keys work.
Have not tried CV/Gate, but have no reason to believe they wouldnt work. This is set up for the full 56 programs, but it needs one eprom to fill it out. All chips are there."
