"Has brand-new membrane panels, installed 04/18. All keys function, and all 6 voices work great. Sweet!

Interior is clean, zero corrosion. All boards look great, nearly brand new.

Exterior is near pristine (some oxidation present on upper right of top panel) but overall excellent condition (9.5/10) for a circa 1985-86 vintage instrument.

Blue sides were recently rounded to remove edge damage, and blue stain was done with oil-based stain (Varathane Worn Navy) and urethane satin finish.

This is a 6 voice (12 VCOs total) analog synth with a 61-key velocity sensitive keyboard. It has selective pitch bend, which lets you bend some notes in a chord while keeping others fixed. It has a MIDI interface, and includes a built-in sequencer."

[demo] Introduction to Waldorf Quantum

Published on Jul 15, 2018 Synthesizer Video Service

"This is a 'short' introduction to the new Waldorf Quantum synthesizer. I tried to cover as many things as possible but there are too many features in this beast. So I focussed on the most important ones: wavetables, sample player, particle, resonator, analog filters, sequencer and komplex modulator."

"My performance for MOTS at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle. Headphones or speakers recommended! Absolutely beautiful setting and everyone played amazing music.

This patch is the Industrial Music Electronics Stillson Hammer Mk II driving a DPO for melodies and STO into STG Soundlabs Post Lawsuit Lowpass filter for bass. Out of frame is my trusty Yamaha MG mixer and Akai Headrush on delay."

MOOG minimoog vs Model D │ Can you hear it now?! - haQ attaQ 290

Published on Jul 15, 2018 Jakob Haq

Reveal comes after 4:20.

"It's time for the title bout! MOOG minimoog vs Model D. Hardware synth legend against it's software counterpart. Both made by one of the most beloved synthesizer manufacturers! So the question is apart from the obvious hardware and software aspect, how similar do they really sound? Can you hear the difference now?

Huge thanks to Kai Aras from NUMERICALaudio who provided me with minimoog footage and sounds. You're a boss!

The lovely Oscilloscope is actually a composite video made using two pictures and a video and took several hours to put together. I borrowed the yellow oscilloscope from a picture that I found on Pinterest. ► https://www.pinterest.se/pin/54395046..."

Salyut - 1 / Салют-1 by Soviet Space Child

"This track is a demo/tribute to the Waldorf MicroWave XTk, which is my favorite digital synthesizer of all time. All of the instruments on this track are from my Waldorf MicroWave XTk 30, and the drums are samples taken from the PPG Waveterm. The drums and strings were processed through an Eventide H3000 D/SE, and there are two Roland RE-501 Chorus Echoes on the FX bus configured in stereo operation. All of the tracks were tracked and mixed through an analog mixer, with analog EQ and compression on the mix bus.

The Salyut- was the first ever space station to be launched into orbit:

Introducing Synth Sounds - An Online Repository of Synth Demos

Synth Oli, maker of the massive SYNTH EVOLUTION poster and matching coffee mugs, previously featured here on MATRIXSYNTH, has launched Synth Sounds, a new site dedicated to the daunting goal of capturing demos of every synth manufactured. He is currently 10% complete (about 40 samples of the 400 synths on there so far), and looking for user contributions for the rest. "All contributors will get a credit on the site so a bit of fame is there for the taking!"

Currently the site features vintage synths between 1960-1990, but future updates will include drum machines and later synths.

Eurorack Modular J3RK Mirror Core VCO in PLL configuration (sort of...)

Published on May 5, 2014 encrust1

Watch your volume levels on this one.

"Just a bit of fun...

My newly constructed J3RK Mirror Core VCO kit from Synthcube. (Not quite finished - a switch needs wiring in and a knob adding.)

The only external module doing anything relevant is a Doepfer LFO.

The left side VCO is producing a reference frequency which the right side should lock to - although this frequency is very low for much of the video. This would be a classic PLL (with divider on the right VCO output, phase comparator XOR gate, and integrator controlling the right VCO voltage input) except that the Lockhart folder is inserted in the PLL loop. This is configured as VCA + single fold. The control voltage for the VCA comes from the external LFO.

The result is that the loop never really 'locks' but meanders around a few attractors which are heavily based on the left VCO frequency. The video camera doesn't capture it well, but this set up produces a lot of bass at times.

I also have the FM input of the left VCO controlled by a second phase comparator output.

I am looking forward to completing the module and getting it into my main rack with filters.

Sorry for the shaky video."
