"Next up in our Start Making series, we used the time whilst broken down in the middle of nowhere to capture a load of samples and put them together to create an Acid House track, using only a Launchpad Pro and what comes in the box.

What do you get with Launchpad Pro?
The sounds in the video are sampled using an iPhone and input into Ableton Live Lite, alongside the Bass Station plug-in, V-Station plug-in and an XLN Addictive Keys Instrument (one from a choice of four!).

Our samples and audio are added into a limited pool, then everyone has one month to strictly use these samples to create their "Chops". On the first of each month we submit them for the club to hear and give feedback. Each month I post the resulting mix video of the fresh music we're making. Like this one!

[Battery Powered EP31] Soundset On The Water Pt2 - Cyloon & Wrong #

"After a long hiatus Battery Operated is back! This particular jam was from May of 2018 when Daniel (Cyloon) and I (Wrong#) biked out to an island and camped for a few days. We jammed on this cliff as the sun was setting and it was a pretty awesome moment to get lost into. The jam was 33(!) minutes long so we divided it into 3 parts, this being the first. Enjoy!

Gear Notes

Running the Volca FM into the Monotron delay was a sweet combo, the delay could give a real etherial sound, the filter could curb the harshness, and pushing the FM in at high gains disted the input stage making for a nice distortion.
