Töörö Digilog Synthesizer | A modern Wavetable with Analog Filters, yes! That doesn't cost a house..

video by Espen Kraft

"I've always been very drawn to the 80s digital synths, with analog filters. Prophet VS, PPG, Kawai K3, Korg DW-8000, Ensoniq ESQ1 and the Microwave, to name some.
This brand new Töörö from Fred's Lab captures the essence of all these, in various ways.

The Töörö is not a copy of any of them of course, but I've owned and used all those mentioned classics and it really has a lot of all of them inside this tiny casing. Not bad.

I highly recommend setting up a dedicated MIDI CC controller for this as it makes it so much more easy and fun to make your own patches, but the interface on it's own is quite easy to work once you get to grips with the grid/row/column thinking.

Check out the Töörö here:

The demo track can be downloaded here:

I was asked to make preset bank for the Töörö and this demo track uses only sounds from that bank, about 15-16 of them and I made the demo track to showcase both the analog sounding warmth and powerful nature of the synths as well as the cold clinical digital side of it.

"This is the original electronic drum, the Pollard Syndrum 178. It's like the "Altair" of electronic drums in that it started the edrum phenomenon. For collectors, this is as rare as it gets. For music makers, this makes the analog sounds you can only get from the original. The large pedal changes the pitch or range, and the small pedal stops the tone or vibrato. The sound is based on sine, square, or triangle wave shapes. I purchased this in 1978 and played it in clubs during the era. Cosmetically, it is poor, but it works perfectly (including both snare settings), and it includes the pad (new backing behind a perfect head), the pedal, the head removal tool, a stereo 1/4" cable for the pedal, a mono 1/4" cable for the pad. The output is unbalanced 1/4", so you can use any guitar cable. The power supply is not original, but the one I have included is vastly superior and works perfectly (any DC supply between 18V and 25V works). As shown in the photos, there are no fader caps, and three faders stems are broken at the ends, but they are still functional. One side has a piece of the wood chipped off. These are extremely rare, typically sell for much more if they work. At the present, I can find no other complete and functional unit available anywhere."

"This is a first edition Manta with Amber LEDs only. Serial no 23.

It is a touch sensitive controller interface requiring a computer or MantaMate accessory to turn capacitive touches into midi, OSC, or CV information.

You can get super geeky with it in MaxMSP or SuperCollider, use a free third-party program like MantaJUCE to get MIDI to your program of choice, or get a MantaMate to convert your touches to CV signals."

You can find some demos of one in previous posts here.
