Based on the seriel number etched on the inside the case appears to have been listed for parts back in 2018.

From the new listing: "I've had this OB-8 for about 5 years and have loved it. It was serviced at Patchwork here in New York City a few years ago and hasn't gotten much use in the last few years. Works and sounds fantastic. Has the front panel that includes labels for secondary functions and has the MIDI ports on the back. Front panel and wooden side panels have a few marks and dings here and there (see photos), but nothing too bad, certainly for a synth of this age. The bottom panel is a bit scraped up and has two of the rubber feet missing. These can be replaced or you could just remove the two on the right side and get new ones. Or leave it as is because once it's on a rack or keyboard stand you won't know the difference."

Emy VAX as talking printer

"Emy/ VAX firmware update.
It can now behave like a talking printer.
Use a standard USB port to 'print' to Emy and have VAX vocalize the text.
