Prophet X Sample Stretch

video upload by O.Z. Hall

"This video demonstrates how to select a single wave from the 100 or so waves from the Prophet VS synth. These waves are included in the sample Type 'Synth' and Instrument 'VS Wave Table'. In this instrument the VS waves are mapped ( one wave per key ) across the keyboard.
Using the Sample Stretch feature of the Prophet X, we can select a wave (hit a key) then select "Sample Stretch" (a dedicated button). At this point, the one sample is stretched across the whole keyboard.
Find out what happens when you crossfade between two sampled instruments ..."

Sequential OB-6 Tutorial Lesson 9: Aftertouch

video upload by EthanJamesMusic

"This is a tutorial series for anyone who wants to learn how to do their own sound design using the Sequential Circuits (former Dave Smith Instruments) OB-6 synthesizer. The goal is to break this subject down into understandable and digestible bits of information that you can apply to your own electronic music. I am primarily a media or film composer, so we will learn ambient, techno, and EDM style sound design using the synth. This ninth video teaches you how to use the aftertouch function and some interactive possibilities of the control. Please leave a comment with any questions or requests and a like if this was helpful."

Taming the Beast

video upload by nbor

"I built two 84hp cases to condense a variety of eurorack modules and small cases into a unified instrument. It is all functioning now, so I'm starting to create with it. Here are my first efforts to make sense of what I have, a mid-tempo techno improv. Several euclidean rhythms and random voltages are driving this, along with interaction on the Sensel Morph."

Model:Cycles, Make Noise O-Coast, and Meris Polymoon Performance

video upload by Patchwerks Seattle

"In this video Kevin from Patchwerks performs on the Elektron Model:Cycles, with support from the Make Noise O-Coast and the Meris Polymoon.

From Elektron: 'Scale angles dense and jagged, glide over plains vast and fluid, or sink into mists of dissonance. To model is to shape the formless. Model:Cycles is a six track FM based groovebox that brings exploring into the heart of sound sculpting. With six unique Machines in one lightweight unit you can effortlessly mold rhythm and melody across the digital spectrum using instant, tactile controls. Exploration made attainable.'

The 0-COAST is a single voice patchable synthesizer. It's name reflects the fact that it utilizes techniques from both the Moog and Buchla paradigms (aka East Coast and West Coast due to their locations), but is loyal to neither and thus implements 0-coast synthesis.

Meris Polymoon is a super-Modulated Delay inspired by cascaded rack gear.

video upload by Perfect Circuit

"Join our pal Brian on a short jaunt through the magical realms of the Torso T-1 !

This algorithmic sequencer is a great tool for generating playable, evolving tonal patterns, as well as Euclidian rhythms. In this short video Brian shows us a hybrid computer/hardware synth setup with the T-1—and its 16 simultaneous MIDI channels—at the heart of the composition.
