Wing Drum and Gecho v2

video upload by Gecho Loopsynth

"This is the metallic timbre #11 from the Wing Drum, processed by Gecho Loopsynth, channel #33 Dekrispator. It is an example how to modulate the sound engine in Gecho by external sound, to get interesting textures. Similar effect can be achieved with microphones. Envelope, delay and filters in Dekrispator can be switched on and off separately, here everything is left on."

Gecho v2, synced start with Pocket Operator

"A quick guide how to set up these two devices to play together in sync (this feature appeared in the firmware version 1.0.118).

In the PO, enable SY1 mode (key+bpm), then start the playback. Gecho will listen to the click track and derive the tempo from it. Then stop the PO playback, select channel (don't press SET), and start the playback again.

You can also select the channel first, then start the PO - they will still be in sync however not necessarily matching at the start of the bar (which may give interesting results too)."

1976 Paia Model 4700 Analog Modular Synthesizer Deep Dive

video upload by Mears

"A deep dive on this rare, and synthesizer almost 50 years old. I've spent countless hours restoring it, and am very pleased with the results. It can produce a wide range of sounds, thick and beefy baselines, pillowy ambient textures, fat analog drums and so much more! This video covers the features of the synth, detailed shots and explanations of the restoration and internal components as well as a ton of high quality audio recordings of the various sounds this synth can produce.

Here's where you can find a whole bunch of great info about this synth: https://modularsynthesis.com/paia/470..."

"Really neat vintage synth, in great working condition. I restored it electronically 3 years ago, and have only used it in my home studio. I'm the second owner, and acquired it directly from the original owner whom purchased it in the 1970's, I believe it's from 1976. I have a bunch of paperwork for the synth somewhere, if I can find it(I'll try, it's buried in boxes somewhere!) I'll include it as well. It's worth noting that during the restoration, I preferred to keep the synth as original as possible, but electronically stable, and to make a 50 year old synth as reliable as possible. It includes and uses the original "pin" cables, so neat & rare. That being said, it's still a very old synth, from the early days of modular synths, when slight changes in mains voltage and temperature variations manifested themselves in "interesting" ways. I'd assume that the purchaser of this synth understands that and doesn't expect the oscillator tracking and tuning stability to be similar to modern synths. Please watch the Youtube video I created for this synth, which goes into great detail about the synths condition, and should answer any questions you have, and give you a clear idea of what to expect if purchasing.

One last thing, this will have to be sent in 2 boxes, and the synth is fairly heavy(each piece is 11kg on it's own). The shipping rate on the listing is not representative of what the actual shipping cost will be, so please if purchasing, expect that the shipping rate will be higher than indicated on the listing. The calculated shipping on Ebay doesn't accommodate multi-box shipments unfortunately. Feel free to contact me for a shipping quote, and if you purchase, please wait for me to provide you with a quote before sending payment. I'll do everything I can to keep the shipping cost as low as possible, but also make sure it arrives safely.

Thanks!

Performance // Granular [Tetra] Grid // Instruōctional Patching

video upload by Instruō

"This patch is broken down in depth in my next Instruōctional Patching video which will be live premiering on Sunday 20th February at 6PM GMT.

This is a performance recording of a patch I created while experimenting with The Tetragrid from Manifold Research Centre.
There are several patching techniques used that I have been experimenting with lately that lend themselves well to harmonic patching as well as much more experimental compositions.

Core Techniques:
• Chaotic cross modulation with magnets (Hail the donut)
• Complex circular FM tones from Cš-L
• Rhythmic gating over index ratios, wavefold depth and signal amplitudes
• Granular/reverberant spatialisation using arbhar
• TZFM as tone generator and processor simultaneously
• Harmonic chord voice using Harmonàig/Saïch

The composition is much more aggressive and textural than my usual. Too much caffeine perhaps… or not enough?
I built the patch to be very hands on and immediate for manipulating the voices. The Tetragrid allows for a wonderfully chaotic interaction between its 6 modulation sources. At times things can stabilise and produce musical ostinatos but simply touching the interface will quickly mix up the patterns.

The algorithms defining the cross modulation in both the instances of audio sources and control generators are circular in nature and with dynamic influence over their ratios. They produce very diverse ranges of complex tones and patterns that can naturally stabilise.

A full written breakdown of the patch and access to the patchnotes can be found on the Learning/Patching page on Instruō website:

GRADIENTS - AMBIENT MODULAR [ DECKARD'S VOICE- 4MS ENSEMBLE OSCILLATOR - QUBIT SURFACE ]

video upload by leonardoworx

"I made this ambient tune with the idea to establish a dialogue between the Black Corporation Deckard's Voice, 4MS Ensemble Oscillator and the Qu-Bit Surface.

PATCH NOTES:
Deckard's Voice and the Surface are sequenced and triggered by Pam's New Workout (that also shares the clock to the entire system), while the Ensemble is sequenced by Hermod.
Divkid Ochd modulate various parameters of the Ensemble, QPAS, Mimeophon and Surface.

Effects Chains:
Deckard's Voice - Mimeophon
Ensemble OSC - QPAS - Z5000
Surface - Disting EX (granulator) - Mimeophon

Plus other few modulations from Pam's and Xaoc Zadar (with the D Channel in cycle) Hope you like :)"
