John Frusciante with an ARP 2500

Spotted this one in a Stranded Records email. John Frusciante has been mentioned in few posts here.

"John Frusciante is best known for his work in the band Red Hot Chili Peppers. His solo career, however, charts an entirely different path: from experimental rock and DIY 4-track recordings to ambient and electronica.

Record Collection recently announced reissues of a slew of Frusciante's long out-of-print records including 2004's Inside of Emptiness, The Will to Death and A Sphere in the Heart of Silence, 2005's Curtains, 2009's The Empyrean and 2014's Enclosure. Recommended for fans of Syd Barrett, Michael Rother and Vini Reilly.

Contemporary VCOS for the Korg Wavestate

video uploads by Robust American Patches

"This video demonstrates the 11 Performances, 29 Programs and 3 Custom Multisamples that are included with 'Contemporary VCOS', our newest release for the Korg Wavestate and Wavestate Native. All the sounds in this video were created with just 3 Multisamples of custom patches that were created with the OB-6. Each custom patch uses the OB-6's vintage knob mode to some extent. All samples were recorded at 24bit/48Khz through our ASP-880 directly into Nuendo. Each Multisample contains 61 samples! (5 octaves) Each sample was meticulously recorded and edited to ensure the best possible sound quality. The sample loops are long and crossfaded for a seamless playing experience. These samples are raw audio from the OB-6. No compression, EQ or processing of any kind besides a gentle boost of the gain/volume after capture.

"Perhaps the longest continuously produced synth in history, the Korg microKORG is as legendary as it is compact. For 20 years, this simple yet versatile synth has made quite an impression on those who've played them. In this video, Fess lays down 20 of his favorite features of the microKORG and why it is still a force to be reckoned with 20 years after its initial release."

I'm now opening up and giving you access to my knowledge, experience, and studio. Additionally, my work as a music technologist extends to beta-tester, demonstrator, and consult for some of the top music technology manufacturers, so by simply following me you gain special insights to new and vintage gear. I'll cover everything from drum machines, synths, modular gear, studio set-up advice, performing with hardware through to communicating to other lifeforms on other planets outside of our galaxy, okay maybe not, but you never know!!

AT THE END OF IT / eurorack jam / chords / ODESSA & HEL

video upload by BRiES

"Voice 1 on Odessa is sequenced by a repeating pattern on STEP 8 while the other 4 voices are sequenced by Mimetic Digitalis.

The even output is split to two Ripples filters for some stereo filtering and there's some filtered noise going through ASHIKO to move it around in the stereo field.

I'm using all 6 outputs of ORBIT 3 to bring life to the filters, pitch and panning."
