136 Mods: TR-626 & MFB Synth Lite II

Published on Mar 28, 2015 The Outsider

"Note: There are not one-hundred-thirty-six mods on these devices. 136 Mods is the name of my gear modding alter ego. This is the third 626 I've modded. There are 21 patch points connected to select pins on IC15, as well as a global pitch down switch on the 626. The Synth Lite II didn't have a noise source, so I built one based around a pair of 2N3904 transistors, wired up in what's called a 'reverse-biased emitter-base junction' and tacked a pre-fab pre-amp mini mini mini PCB which uses a surface mount LM386 amplifier IC. This particular mod isn't quite finished, as I still haven't found a pot small enough to cram in the enclosure so that the volume of the noise is adjustable. Shits & giggles, kiddies!"

Created a new 136 Mods channel label for these.
