"This is a heavily modified version of the Alesis HR-16 drum machine from the late 80s/90s. I have developed my own custom PCB board to house all the modifications I carry out and to keep the design clean and robust.

I will also consider swaps/trades for gear that interests me, dead or alive.. ask me... :)

Most notable features added are:
Ability to quickly replace sound bank chips using the quick release sockets mounted to the top of the unit (compatible with any of the soundbanks I have in my other listings)
Full LTC1799 Pitch Modification, allowing you to change the overall pitch of the whole machine (can go SUUUUUPER slow (a snare can last around 7seconds) ) and also around 20% higher in pitch. It's also worth noting that all sounds can individually pitched/tuned also as standard. It makes for great turntable style slow downs etc.

Updatable STEREO DSP FX System, including Low and High Pass filters, Bitcrush, reverb, delays etc. Used in conjunction with the multiple outputs makes the machine super powerful. Endless fun or just use it to make the sounds a little dirtier..

Gorgeous solid walnut side panels really set the look of the machine off.

12 x 2 way bend switches. Each switch has 2 bends and center off, I think the combination is something like 4096 possible bends.
Choice of LCD COLOR (look at my other listings for available colors)
Brand new faders for volume and data sliders.
Brand new memory backup battery
Any TWO of my Sound banks included with the unit

PLEASE NOTE: I make each machine to order so it will take me 2 weeks to build and ship the unit out. I have a full time job and can only work on these on evenings and weekends.
That said, just take a look at my feedback comments, you won't be disappointed.

Go forth and make beats!! :D

A little more about the kits I make and have for sale...

CUSTOM ROM SOUND BANKS
The original HR16 held a single sound bank of drum samples. I have have used larger chips in conjunction with a switch to allow the user to switch between 2 banks of sounds.
Each sound has been carefully processed to get the best possible quality out of the machine using the same software algorithms that Alesis used back in the day.
More sound banks are in the pipeline for other classic drum machines as well as some 'genre specific' set for house, DnB etc. I can also create banks from your supplied samples upon request.

TR-909 / TR-808 EMULATION
I have very carefully created what I believe to be a great 808/909 rom set. Each bank contains many different variations of the original sounds i.e. hard/soft attacks short/long decays etc, loads of different snares, hi hats and cymbals at various decay rates. Of course, each sample is tunable and assignable to any pad. For instance, you could spread out multiple long decay 808 kick drums across the top row of pads and adjust the pitch of each pad to give yourself a nice sub-bass line. There are also a few extra useable percussion sounds thrown in for good measure. Only one sound bank can be used at a time, I have fitted a switch to the back of the unit which puts the unit into 808 or 909 mode respectively. (I can make banks upon request utilizing a mix of sounds)"
