"A quick demo exercising the distortion effects and built-in sequencer.
It's not exactly an acid machine, but does a fair job!

Isla Electronics ASYX - Multi Timbral demo

video upload by Isla Electronics

"I keep getting asked what the 'MIX' button is for.
Well, the original Andromeda was 16 voices, but it was also 16 part multi-timbral, so you could either have upto 16 totally different sounds playing at once, or you could also use it to layer different patches to create very thick textures.
In this quick synth wank, I give a little tour of the UI while about 7 different programs are playing across different midi tracks from ableton. No additional fx or processing other than what's coming out of asyx. This is just 1 single instance of the plugin loaded.
Excuse my rough timing, I recorded this in on a KordBot.. lol"

Isla Electronics "Asyx" - Alesis Andromeda VST plugin | No talking teaser

video upload by xu.sounddesign - dirk rohde

"Brad Holland, the founder and chief developer from Isla Electronics (islaelectronics.com) and his team are developing a VST plugin based on the famous Alesis Andromeda A6. The beta phase is currently underway. I’ve already had a chance to try out the beta version and have designed a sound pack for the 'Asyx' based on my 'Moviescore' sound pack for the original Andromeda.

Here’s my first teaser where you can get a sneak peek at the “Asyx” Andromeda A6 plugin. It sounds massive, fat, and creamy, and does a great job of recreating the gritty, analog character of the original Andromeda."

"A quick tease of one of the internal caladan engines.
This one is likely going to be polished up and also released as a VST/AU plugin soon.
Still work to do but it's almost feature complete now.
Fully sysex compatible with the original machine and can actually also behave as a remote controller for the real hardware.

More Later...
Enjoy!

KordBot Firmware update tour...

video upload by Isla Electronics

"I'm delighted to finally be able to give you a tour of the soon to be released firmware update for your beloved KordBot.

Rather than a full end to end feature example I've tried to keep this as short as possible to just walk around all the new features and improvements.

This should be released to the public sometime next week after some initial private beta testing is complete to make sure we don't blow up your KordBot ;)

as always, come and join the discussion at http://forum.islaelectronics.com

big love!
brad

I also want to give a plug to Georgy at Musician Paradise, purveyor of the finest midi chord progression packs who has graciously donated hundreds of song starter chord progressions that will be included in the firmware. check him out over at

"A pre-owned ISLA SP2400 in very good condition. It comes with its original packaging and accessories.

Manufacturer's description
For us, the S2400 is a passion project – to recreate the sound of one of the world’s most iconic sampling drum machines, and bring it up-to-date with modern features. The result is the very best of old school and new school technology coming together.

Brad has been obsessed with drum machines for many years – owning, repairing, restoring, modifying countless makes and models (see his HR-16 mods on youtube).

Staying true to form in both sonic characteristics and design aesthetic were the main drivers in the realisation of this project, while bringing the hardware into the 21st Century and keeping the same ‘instant gratification’ and intuitiveness of its spiritual pre-predecessor at heart."
