CES Ed-Lab 700 - vintage modular banana plug interface unit

"These units were used for educational purposes to teach electronic patching via a vast interface panel with loads of banana plug insert points. In recent years these have been integrated into modular synth systems and have been used as the basis of crazy circuit bent instruments. Such projects are beyond me so I offer this to somebody with the skills to see it through.

The unit is in excellent condition with only very minor wear and blemishes. It comes with the case and two bags full of banana plug cables."

"These units were produced for educational purposes but as you can see they are easily integrated in to a banana cable modular synth set up (eg Buchla, Serge, Modcan A, Phenol, Fenix, Bugbrand, Lorre Mill, Ciat Lombard etc)

It's a collection of various logic, digital and simple AD/DA circuits with a few analog sections and a HEX input key pad.

I've seen them advertised as "Analog Computers" which of course they are not, but I can see why some folk might think so.

I intended to use this with my Serge system but never got around to it and now I need the space.

The high/low switch for the digital clock speed needs replacing."

Jordan Rudess with his Zen Riffer at CES

Amazing Grace rehearsal at CES

YouTube Uploaded by JCRUDESS on Jan 12, 2012

"Amazing Grace rehearsal at CES on the Zen Riffer with SampleWiz as the sound source and Demetrio Navarro from iConnectivity on backup keys!"

I was wondering if we'd have a CES post this year.

CES EdLab 500 and 651 Electronics Laboratory

via this auction and this auction

"This is designed for teaching analog electronics but can be used for all kinds of fun stuff as it has a built in voltage controlled oscillator / signal generator and a small speaker and amp. You can wire up a simple filter using banana cables and interface this with your Serge / Modcan / Cyndustries modular set up. Works perfectly."

CES Analog Computer

via this auction

"Your looking at a analog computer by CES. This is a CES Ed-Lab 700, it has banana plug jacks, used a banana to 1/4 jack interface to use this with my modular. If you have Modcan, Cynthia, or Serge this thing is ready to rock.

This analog computer features a clock (with two 180 degree outputs) , inveters, boolean logic, flip flops, Threshold Logic, Comparator OP-Amp, , volatge meter, AND, NAND, NOR, Exclusive - OR, switches and LED displays. All the logic you will ever need for complex sequences, triggers, and noise generators."
