Nice drone with two oscillators. The output signal can be routed via 4 Out jacks to any one of 12 In jacks. These 12 Inputs are connected to a 12 point binary counter where they jumble up and mix the oscillator frequencies. This generates lots of glitches, noise, blips and harsh analog joy!

The Starve control chokes off the power for the two oscillators and adds some extra tweaking ability. The adjustment an effect of this depends on connection between any of the 16 point matrix.

Output level control, 1/4" standard mono output jack fro connector to your amp, mixer, rig, fx, etc...

All hand made and build, pcb is etched, all new electrical components, aluminum enclosure is etched and roughed up for a nice unique look - covered with a clear satin acrylic paint.

Modified vintage meter from the 1940's, made by Radio City Products out of New York City, USA. Circuit is built with all new electrical components. This instrument is designed to produce great audio drones and soundscapes. Excellent for live performances or use in the studio as a sound source for samples. The signature on the back is the original user of the meter. Please ask any questions you may have on this device.

Runs on a single power supply, regulated, 9-12 VDC (not included with this listing).

Please see pictures on the physical conditon of thisdevice. The is wear, scratches, and chips in the wood case. I left this intact to preserve its charicter. The only original electrical component is the meter, and this appears to have the tip of the needle broken. The needle moves in correspondence to the output signal.

Modified keyboard is built for glitches but does produce some drones as well. The 8 data line mod is made with 3 position switches (data on / data off / data mix). The 8 data lines are arranged into 4 pairs which allow for mixing of data lines. Data lines can be turned on and off so as to build new patches and sounds. LFO is routed directly to the CPU so as to give maximum glitching and effect on all patches and sounds, also causes keyboard to glitch without the use of Data Line switches. Tone and Distortion filter are directly connected to the keyboard circuit and are not able to be bypassed. Pitch drop effects all keys above the auto accompaniment, it lowers the pitch several octaves.

Standard keyboard operates as normal, with the exception of the added distortion and tone control. Two of the black keys are a bit stiff, but otherwise play normal. All functions are in good order, keyboard has some sighs of previous use (small scratches and scuffs). Battery cover is present.

Great instrument for studio work or in a live show. Lots of glitching sounds and textures, endless possibilities with mixing the 100 voices, tampering with the 10 rhythms and distorting the on board demo song..."

"Up for auction is a circuit bent Texas Instruments VOCAID unit. This unit is called the VOCAID BABELBOX. This unit will make bent voice/tone/loop sounds when you turn on any of the bend switches and touch the front panel. You can change the pitch by moving your hand over the photo sensor or touching the body contact and front panel or moving the pitchball.

This unit has 4 different underlay settings, each has 32 words or phrases that play back when you press the different holographic squares. The different underlay settings are set by 3 toggle switches on the top of the unit. It gives this unit a very large vocabulary,much larger than the standard Touch and Tell BABELBOX.

The size is approx: 14" X 10" X 1.5". The unit uses 2 "D" batteries for power (not included).This is a great instrument for live work or for sampling sounds in the studio.

The VOCAID units are getting harder to find so don't miss this chance to own a truly unique instrument! This may be one of the last of the VOCAID BABELBOX i make.
