Frostwave Sonic Alienator - Decimator Bit Crusher Fuzz

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"There are two things I really love about this effect;  1 is that you can mix in your clean signal, which is something I love to do with guitar and another fuzz pedal, blending the Sonic Alienator to taste. It's a really cool way to add some decimation to your otherwise "vintage" sounding fuzzes/  The 2nd thing I love about this effect is the addition of a powerful lowpass filter that can position either pre or post decimation, for a whole slew of sounds..."

Frostwave PVC Scalable Pedal to Voltage Converter

This one in via Brian Comnes.  The following are instructions on how to use the pedal via Paul Perry of Frostwave.  It went for $125 on eBay.

"The instructions for setting up the PVC for other pedals is this: connect expression pedal to box (which turns it on). Set pedal to minimum position. Adjust the blue recessed screw on the front of the PVC where it says 'min' so that the led nearby 'just' lights.

Now set the pedal to maximum & adjust the other blue recessed screw until the 'max' led just comes on. That's it!

The Resonator can run on anything from 14 V AC to 18V AC, it makes no difference. The PVC can run on a 9v DC transformer (centre +ve) or via an internal 9v battery (not supplied).

If you have any questions, contact me directly.

If you want the PVC to sweep both filter inputs at the same time, you can use a 1/4 to two 1/4 splitter plug or cable.

best, paul perry Melbourne Australia""

Frostwave Funk-A-Duck Envelope Follower Resonant Filter

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The Funkaduck is an incredibly versatile and dynamic effect. The 'Envelope' is volume controlled, so when the signal you put through such as a guitar strum, drum loop or bassline reaches a certain volume the envelope will flip open and send the signal via the filter (which you can switch between high pass and low pass), cutting off the filter abruptly when the volume lowers. This creates an excellent resonant analog "auto wah" effect which sounds as amazing on electronic drum loops, as it does on guitars, basses and keyboards. There is a good demo on drum track at big city music Youtube..." [posted here]

KORG MS20 VCF Stomp Box

via Mark Milanovich on Facebook

"This is the result of me getting fed up with the prices of the Frostwave Resonators. I didn't need all the features the Resonator had, so I cloned the exact LP filter found in the MS-20. Controls are volume, cutoff, and resonance. I used a dual OTA to achieve this.

This is mainly used in my tabletop synth rig, mainly for my Casio VL-Tone and my Critter and Guitari Pocket Piano."

Frostwave Fat Controller CV/Gate MIDI Synthesizer Sequencer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Forget paying 2k for an ARP Sequencer. The classic and rare Frostwave Fat Controller sequencer is similar and has all of its features and way more and is much more rock solid time wise and sync wise. The last one on here went for $700, they've sold for up to $1000 given their rarity and popularity. These are long out of production.

The reason that this one is only 550 is that one slider cap is missing and one nut in the back is also missing. This was the condition I bought it in. But it works and comes with its power adaptor which is important as it's not your standard power adaptor. And while it's not in absolutely perfect shape it is still in very good condition..."

Frostwave Resonator KORG MS-20 Filter Clone

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is a clone of the unique and beautiful sounding filter found in the famous Korg MS-20 analog Synth. The heart and soul of the Korg MS-20 was its filter and here it is inside the Frostwave Resonator.

The Frostwave Resonator itself has now become a classic and is highly sought after. It is no longer made and hasn't been in production for a few years. This amazing filter will only appreciate in value over the coming years.

This will fit perfectly into an analogue synth setup. If you are a guitarist, you can use it as an FX pedal but you'll need to manually sweep the controls or attach a CV pedal to one of the CV inputs to get a lovely analogue sweep.

If you have a modular synth or are just looking to expand your Moog Voyager for instance, this filter will give your synth that unmistakable sound of the Korg. It features 4 CV control inputs at the back as well as the audio input and output jacks. It comes with an Australian power adapter."

Arturia Minibrute Improvs

[ Arturia Minibrute ] First Improv jam with TR-909 + Frostwave Fat Controller #1

YouTube Published on Jul 6, 2012 by LowGainElectronics

"Attack of "DJ FINGERS" ! WOOoooOO *laughs* OK... If you can't watch this with a sense of humor then just stop the video now. This is a work of fiction, it never happened in real life so no hating on how bad it is. Just messing around within the first 30minutes of me opening up the new Arturia Minibrute. Gotta say it's lots of fun. Looking forward to exploring it a LOT more. Expect some better videos soon. There are some fun parts though in here. Youtube tells me there's sync issues, sorry for that. Not going to fix, just going to upload more videos. This is also my first jam with the fat controller. Still learning it's ins and outs.

I'll tell you that off the bat it has arpeggiator issues. Be warned."

Original Frostwave Resonator MS20 Filter Clone Prototype

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

via the listing: "This is a rare prototype of the already rare Frostwave Resonator. When I first stumbled upon this I decided to contact Paul Perry, the man behind Frostwave, to try and get a little history on my new friend. He confirmed that this particular Resonator was indeed one of a kind. It was so early in production that he had not yet designed a housing for the Resonator, and just ended up using one of the original Funk.a.Duck housings. According to him, all internal wiring on this model is point to point, and with the purist in mind, this prototype is an exact copy of the MS20 filter section, part for part (this means no voltage control, sorry guys). This piece is fully functional, sold as is, with the orignal PSU, also kludged together by Paul Perry.

This is a very rare opportunity, and the closest thing to the MS20 sound without shelling out for an original MS. I've owned both this and the new Resonators, and this thing kills the newer ones. A lot can be said for point to point wiring, especially in high impedance circuit design."

This one in via brian comnes.

Update via Brian in the comments: "Note the linited I/O ports there's only two , the production versions had 4 CV inputs for cutoff and resonance for high and low filters"
