Jen DK-20 analog keyboard

YouTube Published on Mar 11, 2012 by daveparry

"From the early 1980's with rhythms, arpeggiator and a stereo chorus."

via this auction
via the listing: "This is an unusual old syth I'm guessing it was designed for the home market. it has number of preset tones the only adjustment over the tone is the sustain there is a very luch chorus/ensemble effect.

Its a very warm sounding synth and the drums sound like they are analogue and sound great too.

the only fault is the stereo button is missing but the effect can be turned on and off with screwdriver. the built in speakers sound quite bad but plugged into an amp it sounds wonderful.

If you google DK-20 there is a video of one in action." [video above]

MODULUXXX - Modular Synthesizer Mini-Festival

"Moduluxxx is a 2 day thermo voltaic burn out celebrating and exploring modular synthesis. Somewhere between a museum, a LAN party and a pet show, Moduluxxx will be an space for vicarious enjoyment, learning, rubber necking, starting a dangerous new hobby (fiscally speaking), kicking tires or brushing shoulders with your peeps.

Around the world modular synthesis is experiencing a renaissance of interest and experimentation, with new developments from high bandwidth video synthesis systems through to reinventions of granular synthesis in an analog context. In a creative audio world that is dominated by software, saved files and presets, modular synthesis offers no recall, each patch is unique and perhaps unrepeatable. The equipment itself is constructed in small manufacturing runs, often by hand, designed by dedicated enthusiasts operating out of their lounge rooms.

So what is modular synthesis anyway? It is a style of synthesiser design where the architecture is left open. Each element, whether it be a sound generator, filter, controller, modulator or effect can be reconfigured in an infinite variety of arrangements.

What is so great about it? Your mind can go wild with the possibilities! You might never finish a song or track again!!

Yamaha E70 In Ivory White

via this auction

"Simply stunning and incredibly rare Yamaha E70 in a high gloss white (original factory finish), in excellent condition and perfect working order, having only had home use from new. Comes complete with it's matching bench and pedalboard, original user manuals and even 2 keys for the fall-board lock! It looks like it recently left the showroom and sounds amazing.

I've no idea how many of these exist but there can't be many, I've certainly never seen another one like it. This is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to own this beautiful instrument.

If you're not familiar with the Yamaha E70 then just do a Google search, there's lots of information and discussion regarding this instrument. The E70 basically uses the same PASS technology and circuitry as the mighty Yamaha CS80 synth from the same era and consequently sounds very similar. The E70 and CS synths evolved from the earlier legendary GX1 Electone Synth. It seems that a few people have now successfully modified their Yamaha E70's by adding an extra control panel, usually in place of the music stand, making it fully programmable and opening up most of the CS80 functionality and sound capabilities." Admin: Blogger Search Working Again

Hopefully I won't jinx it, but Blogger search on the top left corner of the site appears to be working again, at least here on M. MATRIXSYNTH-B search still seems pretty hit and miss. Give it a try. Remember there are two search boxes on the site. Blogger search on the top left which brings up results as posts and Google search on the top right which brings up a results as links. Try both to see which you prefer.

Moog Minimoog with Koa Wood

"Cosmetically- It has a new Koa cabinet which looks stunning. Google Koa and see what comes up. The black bottom cover has also been restored. It has a new set of keys, almost all external screws have been replaced with new ones, it has a new set of knobs (from the original company that supplied them early on), the back metal back panel has been re-anodized and it has new Switchcraft washers & nuts.

Internally- Apart from any repairs, it has been disassembled and cleaned, all electrolytic capacitors replaced, all switches and potentiometers cleaned, has the "switch mod" for better reliability, all trimmers on the oscillator card replaced, the edge connectors resoldered, new 1% resistors and it's been fully calibrated. The keyboard has been disassembled, cleaned, key contacts cleaned, all parts inside have been relubed, it has new key bushings (action feels great) and the keyboard, pitch/modulation cinch connectors have been replaced with better molex connectors. This one does have the "buffer board" for better tuning."

Update: pulled the auction link. This one appears to be a scam.
