"Clan Analogue "Gear Shift" jam session for February 2012

Gear Shift is a monthly jam session organised by the electronic music collective Clan Analogue taking place at Horse Bazaar in Melbourne.
Anyone is welcome to join in.

Just bring a synth, laptop, drum machine or any kind of electronic music-making gadget. This a great opportunity to play electronic music with other people, learn some new techniques and try out some different gear.

At the February Gear Shift the following equipment made an appearance:

• Laptop running SuperCollider and Pd

• Laptop with Ableton Live
• Korg M3 with Radias expansion card


Before each jam session is a Clan Analogue meeting, beginning at 6.30pm, to discuss the latest plans for Clan Analogue.

Designed for drummers who need professional features and reliability, the midiKITI Pro is the only serious unit available for acoustic drum triggering or pad triggering. The midiKITI Pro features nine external trigger inputs for pads or triggers. With four notes per trigger, you can layer, crossfade, or even alternate sounds at the touch of a button. Its "Auto Train" feature allows quick and easy setup of MIDI channel, note channel, dynamic range, and many other parameters. The midiKITI's new live pattern generator can add dimension to your solos, or can simply be used as an ncredible practice device at home. The midiKITI Pro has all of the high level triggering features needed by today's top professionals.

KEY FEATURES—AUTO TRAINING modes allow easy setup of:
1. MIDI CHANNEL and MIDI NOTE simply by pressing your drum machine button;

Trigger Inputs respond to electronic triggers, acoustic triggers, and drum mics because of intelligent use of the Trigger Envelope from AUTO TRAIN. All Trigger Inputs are totally independent, each with: 16 levels of GAIN, 64 steps of personal DYNAMIC RANGE, variable THRESHOLDS, MASK TIMES, and HEADROOMS. SCAN TIME selects MIDI processing time from 1.5 to 8 milliseconds. INTERACTION Suppression eliminates cross triggering from one trigger to another.

Each trigger input can play up to 4 notes in 16 different modes. Modes include Multiple (Simultaneous) Velocity cross-fade and Alternating.

New INTERACTION MATRIX allows pads that interact to be grouped automatically without affecting the other pads not involved. An additional jack for a Hi-Hat mode controlled by a footswitch. (Three sounds available) KIT advance and backup can now be performed by the trigger inputs.
