Bob Moog Foundation Auction: Mini Moog Felt Sculpture

via this auction

"This auction is for a piece by Australian artist Seja Vogel.

Piece Description: Small Mini Moog Synth sculpture, handcrafted from felt.

Medium: Felt

Recently referred to as the “synth whisperer” by Mess and Noise magazine, Australian Seja Vogel is probably better known as a musician than anything else. However her recent solo album features a cover of handmade felt synthesizers created by Vogel. “I started making little felt instruments a couple of years ago, just as presents for friends. I always try to get them as accurate as I can to the real ones - to get every key, every button and every slider to match.” She is the only artist represented in the auction who does not call Asheville home. Her donation of a felt synth to the foundation was the inspiration for the art auction.

You can see more of Seja's work online at: www.etsy.com/shop/pulsewidth"

Felt Birthday Minimoog

via Miguel

"Here is a link to the amazing felt Minimoog that my friend Grace Kim made for my birthday. The knob panel is adjustable, there is a lot of detail and it even lights up the power light... just check out the pictures."

Giving this the synth cake label even though it's not a cake. The label is about birthdays as well.

Synthesizer - Hand Sewn From Felt

flickr by moddyboy80

"This is another piece of mine, one that I am especially proud of.

It is a meticulously hand sewn representation of a synthesizer that my mother purchased for me when I was young, (13 perhaps?). I still own that synth today, and it even works sometimes. Despite all the smoke it emits!

This handmade felt fridge magnet is about the size of a business card. Maybe just slightly larger."

INFLATABLE YAMAHA QY70!

via this auction

another synth pillow

"have you ever been relaxing at the beach, looking out at the pounding surf and thought to yourself..."i wish i could combine my love of relaxing water sports with my love of esoteric electronic instruments!"

well if you have, GET READY! because here is what you've been waiting for!! while your friends play ancient crap games like "marco polo" and swim laps like SUCKERS you will be chillin' in the corner by yourself pretending to program "phat beats" on your own INFLATABLE DRUM MACHINE! It looks like it has all the great features of a Yamaha QY70, but it is full of air...which means...ummm...that it floats!

can an akai MPC do that? not without voiding the hell out of its warranty buddy!

just think of the possibilities! would a REAL hipster play dodge ball with one of those boring old red balls that every one else has? NO WAY! he would play "Dodge Sequencer"! would a real new waver parade around town with an ordinary inflatable balloon? NO WAY! he would fill this bitch up with helium and be the toast of the town. would the ultimate synth nerd rest his head on an ordinary pillow filled with obsolete objects like FEATHERS?? NO WAY DUDE! he would rest his head on an inflatable QY70 (or possibly a stuffed Morton Subotnik) and dream sweet dreams of hanging out with Wendy Carlos.

now what you see is what you get, i have no inflatable midi cables and i'm pretty sure they don't exist, so don't call me when you can't get the inflatable QY70 to sync up to your inflatable TR808. IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN. ANYWAY you'd need a inflatable SYNC24 to inflatable MIDI converter box and the only people who made that was Buchla to go with his inflatable touch panels.

anyway, somebody's GOT to have a use for this. I'M LOOKIN AT YOU FREEZEPOP!" see this vid

Keytar , air synthesizer

You know you want it.

via this auction.

" This is a unique keyboard. With a keyboard like this- traditional synthesizer concepts are meaningless. Oscillators, envelopes, and filters are as relevant as sample rates and memory capacity which is now a term used by family members accessing your mental state. The 3 1/2 octave keyboard starts on a B note which in itself makes this a collectors item. Inflate with air and amaze your friends! They won't believe you actually bought this. Great for gigs, gags, or games. Theater, visual aids, education, wall art. Anything except actually making music. Forget that phat heavy Moog sound. This keyboard is so light it floats on water. Seriously, you can place it in water and it will float. Try doing that with a modular system. No adaptor, no case, no MIDI, no velocity. no after touch, no software, no sound. Made of cheap thin glossy flammable black & white plastic.

# 6 Slider controllers
# 20 buttons
# 3 rocker switches
# Almost Oberheim type logo
# Two dimensional keyboard
# Light weight 1/4 lb.
# 24" x 8" x 1"
# Waterproof
# Recyclable"
