CGS Serge Noise Source & Random Voltage Generator

In case you missed the update in this post, Ken Stone of Catgirl Synth (CGS) will also have the new Noise Source, which, actually is a 1975 design.  The Serge Tcherepnin copyright in the image from that post was for the new drawing of the schematic.

Pictured here is the Noise Source in Ken's system along with the Random Voltage Generator.  The Noise Source makes the Random Voltage Generator possible.  In the image below, the PCB with fewer parts in the bottom pic is the Noise Source. The other board is the SSG (Serge Smooth and Stepped Generator).

CGS Multi Tempo Patch

"I don't know how many years it is that I have been working towards getting a decent sized patch going. Too much building, too many interruptions, too many times having to pull something apart to answer questions. So over the last couple of weeks, my intentions got a little further than just being that, and a managed a couple of rudimentary/experimental patches. Finally today I spent a few hours putting this together. I don't know how many years I've wanted to do this particular type of patch, but it's been a lot. The basis is the C Am F G chord progression. VCO 1 is playing those notes, VCO 2 is playing harmony at twice the rate. VCO 3 is playing a 15 step sequence at 4(?) times the rate again, while VCO 4 is playing the "lead" at 1/2 the rate of VCO 1. The lead uses a Doepfer Phase Locked Loop to break up the tone a bit. This was just quickly recorded with the camera to make sure I have a record of it. At the moment there is no audio recording equipment in the room! Oh - the Serge isn't part of the patch. It is still wired up as per the last video."

1975 La-Trobe University Serge

"Not dressed for the occasion."

"Testing out four panels of the ex La-Trobe University Serge. The reverb module had just had 90% component replacement, and was being given a good work out to test it. The patch is just an expansion of the one in the last two panel video of this synth. Unfortunately the camera microphone leaves it sounding a little tinny. Please excuse the over-weight under-dressed old dude at the controls! XD"

Serge Sequence

Published on Dec 22, 2012

"Two modules from a vintage paperface Serge Modular from 1975. Upgrades/repairs made to sequencer section, inluding replacing and adding LEDs, an 8 ways switch to give a default sequencer patch, addition of cycle switches on the Negative Slews. Patch has two VCOs running from different rows of the sequencer/programmer. Neg slew as clock for seq. Neg Slew as LFO for second filter. 1st filter and Gate driven by Envelope generator. 2nd Env Generator acting as sub-oscillator. 2nd Gate used as a mixer/level."

Eowave at Modularsquare

Announced back on February 20, Modularsquare held their monthly synth meeting on March 2 with Eowave.  The pics from the event are now up on Modularsquare's flickr page here.

"Here's an experiment with a new flagship product prototype!...........inferno? 6 oscillators, interchangable filters, interchangable touch keyboard with real keys, 2 ring modulators, dual tape delay simulators and more! As said- it's a prototype- but fun to start with- a true stereo synthesizer!"

Googlish:

"ES-1, the other is for overdubbing Poly800. To Poly800 is because there is no arpeggiator, "Drum has been added to play the MIDI notes and Choi and exported in arpeggiator DAW.
Since I can not even change the tone or something loose in LFO, I was allowed to Munyumunyu the CUTOFF and RESO filter for audio after recording a fine phrase.
PowerDirector is a collection of video effects of recent favorite. And the light PowerDirector, there is a dedicated track BGM, so you can manually enter any marker while listening, is perfect for operations that will change the cut to the beat like this. With that said, I've tried various effects doubles as a practice. It was also good at the weather today, but gone over restraint, if used well, the eyes a little restrained, cool things that I feel like I can I will. '"

For those interested, the seller also has an EVENTIDE H-910 for parts/project listed here.

Googlish:

"For auction is one of my DIY projects that I can not complete due to time constraints.

It is a OAKLEY SOUND TB3031 Roland TB 303 clone with an integrated MIDI interface and CV / GATE converter.
Midi interface remains a problem, above say it's somewhere a soldering defects available.
By pressing the lower right corner of the device jumps to function. With a CV gate converter I tested the Oakley, it works flawlessly
However, the Midi zickt around like said.

It is the rare components are installed, sound is excellent, but as I now also have other devices missing here, my time to debug the ready.
For someone with time and knowledge of electronics certainly not a problem, since it's really just a trifle.

The clone is the TB3031 by Oakley Sound, Midi interface from Seb's DIY Page. Links I can gladly provide on request. Schematics and code is all
freely available.

Supplied with power supply and well packed (which is already visible in the photos)."

Video at the auction and posted earlier here.

"anodized aluminium housing, CNC engraved labeling, darkened (stained) lacquered oak wood sides with nice wood pattern.

Built like a tank.

Sound is triggered by clicking to front panel or by external drum pad or external audio signal.

Trigger button = continuous sound (you can use it as dub siren).

Great for sampling or live performance or you can trigger it with analog sequencer/synth

You can connect external drum pad into Trig In connector for live drumming.

Or connect individual output from your drum machine to SSD´s Trig in and "replace" internal sound by SSD´s pure analog sound."
