Dutch STEIM Zwarte Dozen Systeem - Sound Demo with Novanex Delay.
video upload by Acid Solder Club
"Short jam of patching with the rare Dutch modular synth system that started out around 1974 within the STEIM Studio for Electro-Instrumental music.
Since 2022 Veerle (Elektortek) got her hands one this system, in total consisting out of 4 rows of "cassettes"/modules (34 total modules, 4x patch matrices). It needs quite some servicing and repair, but als a lot of cassettes survived the forces of time.
Since last year the system is based at Acid Solder Club Utrecht, Veerle's creative electronics/ DIY and synth workshop and experimental sound studio based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Together with a small team (herself, Rob vd Poel and Sybren Danz) we are searching for documentation, video materials, schematics and all kinds of doodled and sketched info, that most unfortunately, is lost in time.
We are currently also working on a digital archive with stories, patch ideas, a new service manual and repair blog. The process is slow, since a lot of information is lost and we are looking at similar circuits at the time, and digital and book references to help the build.
Follow Acid Solder Club insta and socials for quick updates!

No post processing anything, and also no filter (yet, in service) or envelopes so it was quite challenging and not really all volume levelled out and such but meh, that's not the point of this video :)
Casettes used in this patch:
V.C Quadrature Oscillator
3x VCO/LFO
ProductModulator
Dual amplifier divider
Inverter
Dual VCA
2x Matrix patchpanels
NOVANEX Sound Shifter SS12000.
that was in the workspace for servicing for the Re:vive Studio, based inside the Instituut of Image and Sound in Hilversum.

He Made A DRUM MACHINE From An Old Organ Found In The Trash!
video upload by THIS MUSEUM IS (NOT) OBSOLETE
"Veerle (Acid Solder Club) shows us some cool things she brought to the museum."
Longer drum video:
From STINKY Electronic Organ To HARDCORE Drumcomputer!
video upload by Acid Solder Club
"Episode 1 where we disassemble 2 electronic organs the Riha107 and Riha730, both were in bad condition and ready to end up on a landfill.
This video is about taking them apart, finding useful elements and pcb's and build it into a new electronic hardcore drumcomputer that you can build at home too!
Part of a multiple episode series, and checkout the video at THIS MUSEUMS (NOT) Obsolete as well where we tryout one of the organ salvaged drumcomputers in the museum together with Mitch!"

Re-using parts of organs for rhythm machines - first test and explorations
video upload by Acid Solder Club
"This is a first test and tryout for looking at possibilities of re-using printed circuit boards of old organs that are no longer usable and re-casing them in new ways.
In this video I've swooped the inside of a KAWAI organ donated by Vincent /Vinnieragua out of the dust, and triggering the sounds of the drummachine board with triggers from modular synthesiser module the "Turing Machine" by Music Thing Modular.
This is a first pilot and proof of concept in a series of follow up projects of re-using organs that are no longer serviceable either due to poor conditions, lost knowledge or other reasons."

Dutch Modular Fest 2024 | Artistic Impression
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"Dutch Modular Fest, Saturday August 31st, 2024
dB music facilties, Utrecht.
I wish DMF was every month, somewhere. But it's not. It's our Dutch annual event, celebrating the modular community and nearby manufacturers. I can't do interviews like DivKid and Mylar, and there's no 'best of show' except maybe all of them. Thanks to Allert Aalders (Sonar Traffic, Modulation) and Veerle Pennock (Acid Solder Club) for making this happen. And all the people who volunteered, participated, engineered, served and performed.
This video is sponsored by the Lab, with compliments."
