"I asked polyend if I could borrow the Medusa for a while to explore it and make an audio demo! Here's my impressions, only to be taken as one persons perspective, it's not an exhaustive review by any means. I hope you get a sense of what it's about and what kind of things you can do with it."

"A few minutes spent improvising on the Polyend Medusa - the hybrid polysynth featuring both digital/wavetable oscillators and pad control and analog oscillators and filter from Dreadbox.

Here's the basic approach to sound design workflow - dialing in and layering different analog and digital oscillators, playing with wavetables, shaping envelopes and filter, adding FM (including on the filter), and assigning modulation."

- Twelve configurable outputs: Gate (5 or 10V), Pitch (V/Oct or Hz/V), Velocity, CC and Clock with tempo divisions. - Using Smart Thru you can daisy chain multiple units to get more voices.

The Medusa firmware update v2.0 will bring interesting enhancements. Just to name a few:

- Refined Grid workflow allows you to randomise notes/chords per step and set the TIE note length. Record your sequences in the live mode and transpose them on the fly.

- The new modulation options with enhanced Drone mode for uncanny ambiences.

- Improved randomisation algorithm will generate synth presets and impressive sequences with a press of one button.

- Grid pads now work as long as you hold a modulator pad pressed which is excellent for performance.

- The new set of Wavetables and Presets.
