The Bob Moog Foundation Fall 2024 Raffle - "No Talking" Demo!

video upload by Pro Synth Network

"We have been very lucky to be involved with helping out on the latest Bob Moog Foundation Raffle. This time, a classic vintage Minimoog Model D, signed by Peter Gabriel and restored by our very own Kent Spong, can be won.

Andrew goes through the gloriously deep, rich and distinctly Moogy tones of this incredibly special raffle prize, signed by the legend that is Peter Gabriel.

There has never been a more important time to support the Foundation. Hurricane Helene tore through Asheville, NC, home of the Moogseum, last month, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Although it only sustained minor damage, the loss in trade from being unable to open will hit the Foundation hard.

Buying tickets for the raffle is an excellent way to help out with the added bonus of being able to own this singularly unique and iconic synthesizer.

Look out for more video content to be released throughout the raffle!

Buy tickets here: https://moogfoundation.org/fall-2024-...

Be quick! The raffle ends on the 28th October 2024!

Huge thanks to the amazing and inimitable Michelle Moog-Koussa for this opportunity to support an organisation that is very dear to our hearts. Please support her work however you can."

Hurricane Helene Impact on the Moogseum

via The Bob Moog Foundation

"Hurricane Helene, the Moogseum & How You Can Help

Many thanks to many of you who have reached out via email, social media, and text inquiring about the status of the Moogseum. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that we've received from all over the world.

As a result of Hurricane Helene, the Moogseum is currently closed. This closure will have a detrimental impact on our financial well-being, likely in the tens of thousands of dollars. Please consider supporting us during this time to ensure that we can sustain our operations through the rest of the year and beyond.

Here are three easy ways to help:

Donate: https://bit.ly/ContributeBMF

Become of member of the Bob Moog Foundation: https://moogfoundation.org/membership/

Purchase something from our newly redesigned online store: https://bit.ly/shopbmf (Note: shipping may take longer than usual).

As you have likely heard from news reports, Hurricane Helene devastated western North Carolina last Friday, leaving many areas destroyed due to flooding, and without power, water, or cellular service. Fortunately, the Moogseum was not anywhere near the flooding, but it did sustain some damage to the exterior.

In the photo above, you can see that the frame from the Moogseum's awning was ripped off the building. It hit the window, causing significant cracks. We have boarded up the window as we wait for it to be replaced and for the awning to be repaired. Because of the extensive devastation all over the region, both of those things could take weeks, if not longer.

Asheville is expected to be without power through at least Friday, and without water for much longer. Cell service has not yet been restored in most areas. The Moogseum has been closed since last Friday, and will remain so for the foreseeable future as we wait for the infrastructure to normalize. There are already thousands of professionals working to rebuild the area and provide support to those affected by the destruction, but Asheville has a very long road to recovery.

Any and all support is deeply appreciated during this difficult time, and will help keep us resilient so that we can continue to inspire our community and beyond through the intersection of science, music, technology, and innovation.

With many thanks for your ongoing support.

Bob Moog Foundation: Adam Holzman Live at Static Age in Asheville NC

video upload by moogfoundation

"On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Holzman will perform a synthesizer and piano concert at Static Age Records.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. For the performance, Holzman will create all sequences and loops in real-time analog without the assistance of a laptop using a variety of synthesizers. When asked to describe the concert, Holzman stated, “It will be sort of Tangerine Dream meets Keith Jarret.”

Tickets for the performance are $20 per person: bit.ly/AdamHolzmanLive.

Holzman is a masterful keyboard player, educator, author, and cartoonist who has spent his career performing with some of music’s biggest names while releasing numerous highly acclaimed recordings. From 1985-1989, he performed more than 200 concerts worldwide with jazz legend, Miles Davis, serving as Davis’s musical director in 1988. Holzman also toured and/or recorded extensively with Grover Washington Jr., Chaka Khan, Wayne Shorter, and many others. Holzman has frequently collaborated with British rocker Steven Wilson and is featured on many of Wilson’s acclaimed releases. Since 2012, Holzman has consistently placed high in Classic Rock and Prog magazine’s ‘Best Keyboard Player’ category. In addition to performing, Holzman wrote Creative Synthesizer Technique, which can be purchased at the Moogseum or online, and teaches part-time at The New School University in New York City.

Funds raised from ticket purchases for the concert and workshop will be used to expand the Bob Moog Foundation’s hallmark education project, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, which has inspired over 30,000 elementary school students through the science of sound. The auction will also help support the Bob Moog Foundation Archives and the Moogseum, an immersive, experiential facility located in Asheville, North Carolina, which brings Bob Moog’s pioneering legacy and the science of sound and synthesis alive for people of all ages. The Moogseum opened in 2019 and has since welcomed over nearly 35,000 visitors.

"June 13, 2023 marks a new chapter for the iconic company Bob Moog founded in 1954, as Moog Music shares that it has been acquired by inMusic.

Through Bob Moog, we share a common lineage with Moog Music. As Moog Music begins its new journey, we remind our community that the Bob Moog Foundation is and always has always been a separate, independent entity with separate goals and separate leadership.

The funding that empowers our work comes from our community. Our work is not sales and manufacturing, but inspiring people from all walks of life with Bob’s legacy, and carrying it forward to future generations.

In the spirit of our shared connection with Dr. Robert Moog, we hope this transition represents fresh new inspiration in the spirit of Bob's legacy."
