Behringer's Polyeight is an eight-voice analog synthesizer that re-creates the era-defining sound of the Polysix. The 2044 low pass filter gave that sound its character and sits at the center of the Polyeight's pure analog signal path. Positive or negative envelope control shapes the filter to create sounds from tight plucks to long blooms. Eight discrete VCOs can be played in dense polyphony for rich harmonies or locked in unison for powerful leads and basslines. Chorus, phaser, and ensemble effects are integrated into the signal path to provide rich textures for strings and pads. Program complex voicings into chord memory and trigger them from a single note. For players chasing the classic Polysix sound, the Behringer Polyeight delivers with more voices and powerful performance features.

Behringer Polyeight: Nick gets Hands-On - Music China 2026

video upload by sonicstate

"Behringer delivered a lot of new models to their stand, but when we dropped by early in the show there weren't many details available - so Nick went again and had a quick look at the Polyeight by himself.

The original reference point is a six-voice, single-oscillator polysynth, while this version increases the voice count and keeps the layout fairly direct.

The instrument features a single oscillator with triangle and pulse waveforms, manual pulse width and pulse-width modulation, plus a sub oscillator. The filter has the expected low-end drop when the cutoff is pushed, and modulation comes from an LFO and a single envelope generator. The panel also includes VCF, VCA attenuator, arpeggiator, key assign modes and a control section.

Built-in effects include chorus and phaser, although the output is mono, so the chorus does not appear as a stereo effect in this setup. The unit also includes unison, split mode, chord memory and mono aftertouch. No pricing or availability information is available yet."

Behringer Polyeight - Synth King custom presets - no talking - playing only

video upload by The Synth King

"Hi, I was a member of the beta testing team for the Behringer Polyeight. Personally I think that creating your own sounds is the best way of testing a new synthesizer.

Pure analog bliss! Exploring my custom patches on the brand-new Behringer Polyeight. 🎹🔥 This video is a pure sound demonstration (no talking, playing only) showcasing the raw sonic capabilities of the Behringer Polyeight. I designed a unique collection of custom presets to test all features of this 8-voice analog monster. It´s still a work in progress. The full soundset will be available soon."

Sneak Peak From the Halls - Music China 2026

video upload by sonicstate

You might remember Behringer's Polyeight teased back in April of 2021.

"Nick and TamiX took a pre-show walk around the Behringer booth at M-China26, with a quick look at a few products before the show floor opened properly.

The preview included the BCR32, Minipop 7, Poly 8, Pro 16 and JN80. The Poly 8 appears to be an 8 voice Poly 6, while the RD-765 unit has styling in the area of classic 909 and 707 drum machines - maybe?
There are also compact controllers with familiar layouts."

Behringer Working on Polyeight - Korg Polysix Clone w/ Two Extra Voices

From Behringer on the interwebs:

"What an exciting day - the first Polyeight has come alive:-)

While this is still an early prototype, the firmware is all based on our new ARM platform, which will certainly speed up the development and time to market.

As you can see, the Polyeight is not a pure clone. We have retained the analog section, but added 2 more voices and especially a much improved user interface with very useful functions.

What do you think?"
