Cellular Automata Synth

"A chimera-esque electronic musical instrument begotten of cellular automata, frequency modulation synthesis, and a unique musical interface.

This polyphonic musical instrument uses the 256 rules of Wolfram's elementary cellular automata to modulate four octaves of notes. As notes are played on the four ribbon controllers (red-orange strips), the chosen cellular automata (CA) rule modulates the notes in real time based on how many cells are 'alive' in a generation. Rules are changed by the keypad on the left. Speed of generation and generation width and length are easily controllable; as are harmonicity and distortion.A small LCD screen displays the rule number and pattern of the CA as it generates in real-time allowing a musician to play in time with the CA."

Anyone know if Fisher actually manufactured the keyboard in this? I remember Fisher being one of the premier stereo equipment manufactures at the time. Fisher was King.

MOOG The Source

"Moog The Source Analog Monophonic Synthesizer, Model 341A, serial #4364. Unit has been superbly maintained, it was calibrated and checked two years ago, and since then has been used very sparingly. Unit powers and produces sound, all features work properly, memory is proper (unit was serviced for "crazy source" problem), membrane panel is flawless, aluminum casing is minimally scratched.

Cosmetically, this synth is as good as any you will find. The photos speak for themselves. The side wood panels show a little on the corners, and there are some scratches on the rear panel near the power outlet and along the bottom of the casing. However, as the pictures show, this is all very minimal. The face of the synth is flawless, all keys work properly, and both the pitch and mod wheels move as they should.

This synthesizer was used in the studio by the band Zombi on their earliest material, as well as appearing on the albums "Cosmos" and "Surface to Air". Many of the presets still exist in the memory. On the bottom left side of the synth, the words "Zombi" and "Pittsburgh" have been stenciled with white paint. This was done after watching Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. This is not visible in the normal playing position, and in no way effects the sound of the instrument.

This instrument has never seen action outside of a studio while it has been owned by me. By the looks of it, it hasn't been part of a live performance ever.

Unit will ship in the original box (reinforced with packing material, and another larger box encasing it). Included is the original manual and a power cable."

Access Virus TI Goldfilter

Remember this post? Looks like it finally went up for auction.

"Welcome,
You are bidding on the one-off, Limited Edition, Access Virus TI Polar known simply as Goldfilter, as created by Access in Germany . This synth is the only one of its kind, mint, unused and still in its original box. Obviously I had to take the pictures ( to be fair, the gold and silver didn't come out as great as I'd hoped ), so it has been removed from its plastic, if only briefly. Don't let the pictures fool you, it's a truly beautiful instrument in real life. To be completely honest with you, I also switched it on once and pressed a few keys just to grin, stupidly, but that's it. Pictures of the actual unit on sale can be found in the Goldfilter gallery, here. Specs for the multiple award-winning TI Series can be found here, on the Access website.

This unit is now for sale to avid collectors and synth buffs alike. No chancers please, this is a legitimate sale.
