The Performance Music Systems Syntar

Click here for a post Carbon111 just put up on The Performance Music Systems Syntar, on Synthwire. Realize, this was the first Keytar ever, BEFORE the MOOG Liberation. There's a shot of Bob Moog and a younger George Mattson, creator of the Syntar, showing Bob the syntar at NAMM. Seriously, check this out. It's a fascinating bit of synth history. I was fortunate enough to play the Syntar and it is a very nice sounding synth with some extremely expressive and versatile controls on the neck. This is a very rare and unique synth along with the SWAN (more info on Carbon111's site). Hmm... I think I actaully took this shot. As always check out previous posts via the MORE tags below each post.

Uranium Table Top

"I created this glass table top using recycled glass and and some depleted uranium glass powder. Uranium glass is also known as vaseline glass. There are two desktops with dimensions 2’ x 10’ and 2’ x 8’. These desktops have stainless steel stands and are illuminated by black lights from underneath."

Acid in my house

YouTube via darenager.
"A short acid house clip from my studio, a quick look around reveals that none of my synths are running, so what else could be producing it?

2 Clues - it's not pre recorded and it's not from my Mac or PC

Have a guess in the comments, the answer will be revealed soon so watch this space! You might be surprised!"

Update: The Answer

New Stylophone With MP3 Support?

Saw this one on Shepitology where you can find a little more detail. Note the mp3 feature. Anyone know more about this? I took a look at the official Stylophone.com and didn't see anything off the bat.

The COMPUTRON

via this auction

Details:
"BEHOLD A POWERFUL "NOISE" INSTURMENT.
THE COMPUTRON HAS BEEN MODIFYIED (I SAY MODIFYIED INSTEAD OF "CIRCUIT BENT" BECAUSE MUCH ADDITIONAL CIRCUITRY WAS ADDED, INSTEAD OF SIMPLY MESSING AROUND WITH EXSISTING CIRCUITRY.) IT COMES COMPLETE WITH A POWERFUL/ VERY SENSITIVE THEREMIN ANTENNA, AS WELL AS MANY OSCILLATOR/ VOLTAGE CONTROLS.

PLEASE GO HERE FOR MORE PICTURES/ SOUND SAMPLES

I have used this for many shows/ recordings with my experimental sound project TORSO. It was used most recently on my split CD with Bastard Noise's BILL NELSON (Unicorn). I will miss the thing. It's DRONE sweeps are unmatched by any other machine I have used (check out the POWER DRONE track on the myspace for proof). TOTAL NOISE BRUTALITY, NOT JUST ANOTHER CIRCUIT BENT TRINKET."
