Delia Derbyshire - Love Without Sound (1969)

YouTube via audiolemon
"Delia Derbyshire is well known for her work with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and her help in creating the Dr.Who theme. Of all the BBC Radiophonic musicians I've heard I always found Delia's music to be more aesthetically mature than that of the others. While many were content to create mathematically structured enharmonic noise she looked for the ghost in the machine, creating haunting, off kilter and often sexually charged music. This track is from the 1969 The White Noise - Electric Storm LP. To me it sounds 30 years ahead of it's time. I hope you like it.

Tense Tents - The Feast

YouTube via ZonkOut. Chad Yasmine
I asked ZonkOut what was making the drone and what synth that was. He replied:
"There is only guitar (through an old EHX Muff Fuzz) in the Feast video, the rest is Sequential Pro-One. Everything is pretty much live. I used a loop pedal (Akai Headrush) to make the rhythms and repeating lines on the Pro-One and then played on top while shooting the video. I have been doing the looped Pro-One rhythms for Low Red Center lately, but there aren't any videos of that up yet. Thanks for asking and keep up the great work on your blog."

Udpate via ZonkOut in the comments:
"Clarification (in case anyone was confused):
I didn't mean that there was nothing but guitar in the vid--just that between the two Tense Tents videos, the only one w/ guitar is the Feast video. In the Feast, the drums are looped Pro-One and there is some Pro-One drone at the beginning and end.
The other video (using only Pro-One):

Deeper

YouTube via eodreams. Sent my way via Susan who had the following to say about it:

"I thought you might be interested in the following video recently posted on YouTube. It features great trippy, evolving visuals by Dick Scherzinger (eonite) to the track Deeper from the Dreamaiden Blue Light CD.

Track Details:
The track is a collaboration between myself and Steve Blenkinsopp who mastered the Blue Light CD and records under the name Waveform. The track is a remix 'plus' of the piece titled Emoshun. Once Steve got involved, it took on a life of it's own and turned into a really great piece worthy of it's own standing, making it difficult to call it a remix. A variety of synths and soft synths were used including the Alesis Andromeda which provides much of the backdrop. Steve then added the rhythm and melody lines.

Dreamaiden web site: www.dreamaiden.com
Waveform web site: www.waveform-online.com

Visual Details:
Dick Scherzinger used U&I Mac-only software ArtMatic and V-Track to create the visuals. You can see more of his great artwork at his web site: www.artmatica.ch.

Don't miss the crazy stacked Roland System 100 towards the beginning. Some more synth shots throughout. Anyone know what the sequencer looking device on the top left of the screen during the brunette interview is? Silly personal note: Fascination Street always reminds me of reading X-Men comics back when the song first came out. Good times.

Pamela Kurstin on TED

Pamelia Kurstin: Theremin, the untouchable music
"Virtuoso Pamelia Kurstin plays and discusses her theremin, the not-just-for-sci-fi electronic instrument that is played without being touched. Songs include the classic "Autumn Leaves," Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life" and a composition by David Mash, "Listen: the Words Are Gone." Piano: Makoto Ozone."

Roland AX-1

Yep...

You can thank (or blame) Goodvillain on the forum for this one.

Click the image for the larger shot. Anyone know who that is? Curious if it's a band shot or a Roland promo shot.

Update via Ben in the comments: "The image name is "Kobe Kaige". Plugging that into Google suggests she's some kinda 'model' of a less-than-clothed nature.

Definitely not a Roland publicity shot."

You can find the video where this came from below also courtesy of Ben. Keytar comes in at 1:23.
