Modular synth controlled from MaxMSP
Modular synth controlled from MaxMSP from Andreas Wetterberg on Vimeo.
"MaxMSP is sending out amplitude variations of a squarewave. This audio signal is fed into an envelope follower, which generates the pitch of the sequence.
The rest is just me futzing about. I'm really hoping to find the *cough* 'time' *cough* to expand this system soon."
Synsonics Model# 5300

via this cl listing, via Jeremy who'd like to know if anyone out there knows more about these. The shots aren't the greatest, but I've never seen or posted one before. Click on the Synsonic label below for posts on other Synsonic electronic drums. via the listing: "Synsonic Model# 5300 ----THESE ARE NOT HIGH QUALITY PROFESSIONAL ELECTRIC DRUMS, but instead, it is a fun set of four drums & a base drum that makes various tones (& some drum/cymbal sounds) that can be altered & played around with. I bought this set about 18 years ago for about $350."
Update: Jeremy found a close-up of the control box on Audio Playground (keyboardmuseum.com) here, via the Synsonics page.

"1984 Roland Juno106. All sounds programmed by WC Olo Garb. Video editing by WC Olo Garb. ||| Syntezatory.prv.pl Videos: showing you not what a synthesizer can do, but what a man can do with a synthesizer. Watching in high quality recommended."
TLN 428 VCF Kit
images via this auction"kit for a TLN-428 Voltage Controlled State Variable Filter... Tellun synth projects are well documented and well designed. They are the closet thing to MOTM in synth DIY. Take a look at his website for more amazing projects.
Auction includes:
Tellun PCB - out of production / no longer available
Stooge mounting bracket

Black mounting screws (to mount your panel in to MOTM style rails)
IC Sockets
Wire - Including shielded audio for the

MOTM Power cable
Tellun User's Guide, and schematics - which can be found online here
You'll need to supply a small amount of heat shrink grease (Scrap some off that old CPU in the garage;)
EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOR FRONT PANEL AND KNOBS!
This was never offered as a kit (well not to my knowledge anyway). I put this together as a kit - That's to say that it's not a kit offered by Tellun Industries."
electribe esx-1 1
YouTube via mutepg58
"improv on the korg electribe esx-1, first vid of it,..couple of mistakes but it came out pretty good. not my usual style, but plenty fun.. broke the very ending but oh well :)
everything = esx. sample kits are custom as well as the synth waveforms. a decent trick; run a pad or lead through all three chains of pitchshifter to build a chord. resample that chord at a root note or two and save it. also gives the 'supersaw' sound if u use it on a good saw wave."
