"This is a system 100 model 101. A monophonic synth that can be used on its own or interfaced with a system 102. The sound and construction is from Roland's 'golden age' when they build synths with the highest quality components. The knobs and sliders have that silky smooth resistance where they feel like they should last 100 years. Subjective opinions: The sound quality could be described as 'pure' and 'powerful' its warm and clear at the same time, the osc sound is very rich and combined with its super fast envelope and wide range vca, proof that you don't need lots of osc to make a big sound. Percussion sounds are possible as well, if you set the env to 0 you can hear an audible click. great zaps and kick drums. The synth is pretty straight forward as a stand alone mono synth, but it still has a few tricks up its sleeve. for example you can patch the vco out into the filter and add a bit of filter fm, or alot to get ring-modulated type sounds with 1 osc. The filter apparently shares some of the design of tb-303, im not sure about this. I can say that it is quite squelchy but still 'vintage sounding' maybe similar to an ems synth for example, in other words, great! There are some high quality audio examples here"

How to Make Bass Sound with TAL Elek7ro

YouTube via VstCafe
"This tutorial shows how to create some simple bass with freely available TAL Elek7ro virtual (bass) synth. Well, i'm not trying to create one particular, great sound. I'm just showing you the meaning of most knobs and it's up to you to create your own bass :). There are so many options - even if you set the knobs 100 % same as me, you can still create some unique bass, thanks to FM knob.

Don't forget to check my blog about music production - http://www.vstcafe.com :)"

AudioMulch 2.0 - metasurface meets speech synthesis

YouTube via AudioMulch
"Preview of the soon-to-be-released version 2.0 of AudioMulch Interactive Music Studio. This short screencast demonstrates the automated metasurface controlling a simple voice synthesis patch. Sadly our screen recording software makes the real-time manipulation of the metasurface seem jumpy -- in reality it's as smooth as yacht rock. Created for the AudioMulch blog: http://www.audiomulch.com/blog"
