circuit bent yamaha mu5, dsi evolver, and akai ewi

YouTube via spunkytoofers
"circuit bent yamaha mu5 multi-timbral portable midi tone generator. midi implementation is basic but has very flexible multi-timbral setups for any midi controller or external sequencer.

in this demo the ewi can control two independant midi channels at once. mu5 assigned 2 tones per midi channel and it's internally panned in stereo. the signal is fed into the dsi's stereo filters which is summed back into mono. i'm able to place more emphasis on each midi channel by midi panning of the stereo filters with a pedal controller. this creates a rich malleable sound with just the mu5 alone.

besides the evolver's filters and amps being controlled with breath, i'm doing just a little touch of live looping and no other processing is used."

Yamaha CS-40M analog synthesizer dual voice

via this auction

"Internally the synth is perfect. It was restored by David White of Analog Keys in Cambridge, MA. It is fully working.

This synthesizer is amazing. Fisrt off, it has TWO voices! Making it duophonic. It has a killer CS ring modulator, that sounds like nothing from this world. And most importantly, it has 20!!! patch locations! YES>>> MEMORY!"

[DIY] SciFi Robot CMOS VCO

YouTube via lastkidontheblock. via this auction

"A little description for international bidders:
The SciFi Robot is a Squarewave VCO with a rudimentary control voltage input. There is one potentiometer for the pitch and one for timbre control (duty cycle). You can also change the pitch with the bodycontacts. You can plug sequencers, midi2cv, etc. into the "CV-In" of the scifi robot, but it is not accurate like a professional VCO (no 1V/octave). You can also plug every active signal of a drumcomputer, synthesizer, computer, mp3-player, etc into the CV-input. So you can use it as fx-device in the effectloop of your mixer.
So you can change every active soundsignal into a squarewave-signal. The output of a drumcomputer will sound like the backgroundmusic in your favorite NES jump 'n run game. But this is just my subjectively estimate. Just listen to the samples! The Robot is powered by one 9v Battery." See this site for more info in German, and YouTube for more vids.
