Harlem Nights - 2010 (TR-707 & Juno 60 synthesizer)

YouTube via harlemnightsmusic

"It's 2010... This time a new jam, using my Korg ESX and Roland Juno 60 synthesizer. All drum sounds are from Roland TR 707. Compared to the Juno 106 that I used so far, the Juno 60 has many of the same controls but a very different sound character - I like both

Drums, choir, fx: Korg Electribe SX sampler
Bass: Novation Super Bass Station
Synths: Roland Juno 60

Next: Roland CR78 New Wave classics"

Goblin Box Self-Modulates To Achieve Robot Consciousness

YouTube via nevenen. Goblin Box Demo vids previously posted here.
"gaffer taped one of my goblin boxes to a stand and pointed it at a frequency analysis VST. the audio the box generates is displayed as an image, and the image effects the sound the box generates. it's a feedback loop that continually changes itself. the goblin box becomes self-aware and launches the nuclear missiles.

p.s. -- goblin box vids uploaded to this account, if you want more on what it is."

Kegel - Feral Forms: Infestation

YouTube via arthurpainter
"This is an edit of a much longer barrage of electronics that started as a sampled (through a Korg Kaoss Pad) Stylophone Beatbox phrase and grew from there. My Folktek Custom Bug and Bugbrand Weevils figure prominently. Alesis Bitrman, Ineko, and Gristlelizer add more flavor to that recipe, while my EH Memory Man consolidates the cacophony."

Malekko: Wiard Envelator

flickr by Analogue Haven
"Photo of the upcoming Envelator by Malekko. This is the fifth and next Eurorack module to come from the intriguing collaboration between Malekko and modular company Wiard. The Envelator can be considered a very flexible envelope/modulator (i.e. multi-function generator).

From Grant Richter of Wiard: "We added a monostable in the "Cyc" feedback loop. Now you can make rolls, strums, echos and bounces with a single section. To get full audio range (500Hz) the delay only kicks in when the knob is pulled out. Delay time is from 4 milliseconds to 10 seconds, exponential curve. "Ext" is an external CV for the delay time, no room for attn. knob.

The normal range of the attack and decay segments is 1 millisecond to 40 seconds. The X10 knob extends the max time for both attack and decay into Gary Chang territory. I have no idea what to do with a 800 second envelope. But I am told they are cool.

The two pull switches are set up up on a composer level to allow ABCD changes on the fly."

We expect to have stock around the end of January.

Price: TBD.

MOTM-650 MIDI-CV Converter Part 1 of 4 - The Basics

video upload by JohnLRice

"This is a series of video tutorials for the Synth Tech MOTM-650 MIDI-CV converter module. The MOTM-650 provides the means to control analog voltage controlled synthesizers with MIDI devices such as keyboards, drum machines and computers.

Paul Schreiber, founder of Synthesis Technology and creator of the MOTM format, explains the features and operation of the MOTM-650 to assist you in getting up and running fast.

See http://www.synthtech.com/ for more information.

JLR's Note: This series was originally just a single long video and available on the Synth Tech site. I took it and broke it up into 4 parts and enhanced the audio and video a little to make it easier to digest. I'll leave these up on my channel unless Paul would like them taken down and moved onto the Synth Tech site etc."

A series of very short cuts zooming on Handsonic (Roland HPD-15) specific fingering techniques.

N.B. Some of the routines obtained here were partly inspired -- in their content and esthetic -- by turntablists Qbert and D-styles . Although nothing can rival real vinyl manipulation by experts, a personal adaptation of these techniques on Handsonic makes imagine new ways in real time electronics.

IF POSSIBLE USE HEADPHONES WHEN VIEWING VIDEO MATERIAL OR CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER TO A QUITE DECENT SOUND SYSTEM.
