STG Modular Cabinets

http://stgsoundlabs.com/

"These are for a customer who wanted a pair of 15U racks to match his Moog-format racks, and also needed a row of MOTM format rails (from Bridechamber) in one of the synthesiser cabinets.

The dark stain was an attempt to blend in a bit better with his Synthesizers.com cabinets. I personally prefer the straight tung oil finish, but since this gentleman was enthusiastic enough to buy 4 cabinets I couldn't say no."

History of the Vocoder on NPR

NPR has a segment on the history of the vocoder and Dave Tompkins' book, How To Wreck a Nice Beach, previously posted here. When you get to NPR, be sure to click on the "Listen to the Story" link right under the title for the audio segment. There is a download link as well, so I backed up a mirror here.

The Clock Locker

YouTube via ugufru — May 13, 2010 — "This demonstrates a finished prototype of the Miduino (Arduino) based Clock Locker MIDI master clock. The big silver knob controls the tempo. The left button is start/restart, and the right button is stop/continue. The back of the unit contains standard MIDI IN and OUT jacks and sends MIDI clock messages to Dave Smith Instruments Mopho [keyboard] and Waldorf XTk synthesizers with arpeggiators activated on both. On the back of the device are analog clock sends for use with analog modular synthesizers which are flashing the LED on the breadboard."

"Synth connection" featuring Arturia MiniMoog.

YouTube via TheSynthFreq — "May 12, 2010 — Hi. This is a new retro synth-pop style composition written today after playing with the vst MiniMoog.
:) I used a MiniMoog Vst's arpeggio, which is a first for me, but the arpeggios inspired a new song. I used 8 notes which equals 4/4 time, to set the arp from DX-9's midi out into the computer. The real MiniMoog is Sweet too. I had the chance to play one and its a truly awesome synth. My sister joins me in this song, jammin out the string track on the Motif-6. In the end, I attempted to fade the arp out by lowering its volume on the amp. lol

Please Enjoy! :)

:) TSF"
