Wiard 300 Series 391 Sequantizer

via this auction
"This Sequantizer , a sequencer-quantizer module, is a voltage stage-selectable eight step voltage source with semi-tone quantizer, lag processor, control voltage mixer and transposer. The unit implements most of the stage performance controls from a Roland TB-303 including octave transpose up, octave transpose down and slide on/off. Each stage has a diode isolated gate output which can be multipled together for an accent bus.

The quantizer has an external transpose input for a keyboard. The quantizer and 0-10V outputs are available simultaneously. Also, the digital counter and flash A/D input are X-ored together so adjustment of the "Select" input during sequencing permutes the sequence pattern. (like the random switch on a ARP sequencer, only more controlled.)

The Sequantizer module contains:
* An eight step analog sequencer. Stage selection is by voltage or by counter
* A voltage quantizer
* A control voltage mixer and transposer
* A jack multiple"

Wiard 300 Series 361 Dual Mixolator

via this auction "The "Super VCA" developed for the Wiard -- the Mixolator -- is a switchable two or four quadrant multiplier. Four quadrant multiplication is also call "balanced modulation" or "ring modulation"

This module contains two identical units. It begins with a high quality DC coupled dual input VCA with individual volume controls (labeled X1 and X2). A "Y" input and output are included so that any combination of mixing, panning, crossfading, gain control, phase inversion and ring modulation are possible. The voltage control curve of each VCA is smoothly pannable from linear to logarithmic response. The output of the each VCA is displayed on a four LED VU meter.

The Mixolator module contains:
* Two Multi-function circuits that provide VCA, crossfade, seque and balanced modulator functions
* A jack multiple

"AFRIQUE" For Gravikord & Theremin

YouTube via copperleaves | October 27, 2010
Theremin comes in at 2:24.
"The "gravikord" is an electroacoustic instrument that is the brainchild of inventor and musical instrument builder, Bob Grawi. It is based on the traditional west African double harp known as the "kora". This piece of music is a short improvisation designed to show some of the things that the gravikord can do (things that are not possible on the kora). I had to cut my head off when I filmed myself playing the gravikord because I was singing the part that I would eventually play on the Moog Ethervox theremin and it looked a bit silly!

For more about the gravikord (tuning, construction etc.) Wikipedia has a very interesting and informative article at the following URL:

Invisible Drum Set - iPhone App

Invisible Drum Set - iPhone App from Kevin Schlei on Vimeo.

"Invisible Drum Set is the drumming app for iPhone 4 and iPod Touch (4th generation) that lets you play 16 drums out of thin air. This performance demos some of the preset drum sounds and effects.

All sounds are generated live from the app. There are built-in recording / looping features.

You can also load your own sounds! I'm curious to see what strange instruments people will make with it.

To find out more and get the app:"

Beatseqr beat-tweaker inna dub garage stylee

YouTube via jonathangolub | October 26, 2010

"This is me playing around with Steve Cooley's amazing beatseqr hardware controller. I'm running it through a Macbook Pro, with Roxor and Steppa, the open-source software designed specifically for the hardware. The Macbook is sending MIDI out to an Emu ESI-32, and I'm also adding Space Echo, spring reverb and digital delay to individual tracks. I spent about 10 minutes beforehand programming the step sequencer, otherwise everything is live."
