"Each button does controls sixteen different parameters. Each knob adjusts sixteen different parameters. The Evolver is a compact synth with incredible depth.

Three months later, I'm still in awe of the Evolver and constantly inspired by it. If I could have only one hardware synth, it might have to be an Evolver. Not because the Evolver can do everything, but because it can do many unusual things. It makes you pause and think, but it also inspires."

"Two Yamaha desktop synths from two different eras. The TG-33 is a hybrid that combines vector control with 12-bit samples and FM synthesis. The control on the left is a free-floating joystick that should be able to transmit some kind of MIDI. The DX200 is a somewhat flawed groovebox (the first note doesn't play when you change patterns) with limited front-panel control despite all the knobs. Lurking inside the DX200 is PLG-150DX 6-operator FM synthesis board. It should be possible to fully program it via MIDI. I'm looking forward to building some crazy patches in PureData for these two machines."
