4ms Pingable Envelope Generator demo at MusikMesse 2011

"Demonstrating the Pingable Envelope Generator, the newest Eurorack module from 4ms.
The PEG is a dual envelope module, with the unique feature of always synchronizing the envelope lengths to a clock (or a division/multiple of the clock). The envelope curve (lin/log/exp/etc) and skew (rise/fall ratio) can be altered without changing the overall envelope length.

In this patch, the two envelope outputs of the PEG are modulating the FM (pitch) and the Morph Z of an E350 Morphing Terrarium."

Oberheim TVS-1a

"Everything works perfectly and was last serviced 2 years ago at a store in NYC called Dr. Sound. It hasn't seen a lot of use in the last couple of years and never left my recording studio. It has a low serial number which is 0420 and I believe was built in 1975. The synth is 100% analog. Phat bass notes and crazy noises can be created with this Oberheim. It only has one voice so it is monophonic but you can easily buy another voice and pop it in there by just removing the top plate."

Yamaha PSR-4600

Yamaha PSR-4600s on eBay. Update: this one is now listed here (bottom three pics below).
"I plan posting this on eBay very soon, but due to it being a quite an uncommon synth, I felt obligated to upload a video of it making sounds so others can appreciate. I only wish I was a better musician so I could make it really shine .

This is a rare vintage Yamaha PSR keyboard circa 1990. There is very little known about this model, the manual is rather short and took a while to discover some of it's undocumented features. I'm sure there are more mysteries to be solved.

I affectionately call this "The Albatross" because of the odd roll bars and weird pattern sequencer. As you can see, it's covered it buttons and sliders. I love the LED display as well as the printouts on the upper panel.
Physically, the keyboard makes a great controller. The keys are firm, responsive and despite the oddness of the roll bars, they are playable.

Nonetheless, the sounds it produces can be quite good.
At it's heart is a 12bit AWM synth and a 2 operator FM synth. Patches can be edited (slightly) and stored. You can layer sounds and split them. It has MIDI, velocity sensitive keys and digital reverb. Some patches crossfade between AWM and FM tones, like a fixed vector synth. This came out about the same time as the Yamaha TG33.

I could be wrong, but I believe this keyboard was a precursor to the big arranger type keyboards... like the Yamaha Tyros."
