"Just wanted to share these pictures of synths I played in a Beirut studio recently. They were bought in town from a shop that still had them in stock from way back !"

Philip Rees MDS Midi to DIN Sync convertor 240v

via this auction

"Midi In
Midi Thru
Sync Out

It has an Australian plug on it but can be swapped out for other counties 240v plugs if needed.

It might just be that this is totally redundant but it is a piece of synth history and is worth keeping in the community rather than landfill.

It's case is made of plastic and perspex and show quite a few scratches as it was used in many great machine driven gigs and gave lots of people pleasure so it wears a few scars."

"SoundPrism 2.0 released – loads of new features added

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Erfurt, Germany, July 7th 2011

Audanika, developers of the popular iPhone/iPad touchscreen instrument and MIDI controller app SoundPrism are pleased to announce the release of a new version that adds a whole host of features, sounds and FX to what has already become a vital and indispensable tool for music makers everywhere.

The new version features a redeveloped sound engine and an in app store where additional instrument packs can be purchased to extend the range of SoundPrism’s sonic possibilities and which also includes a free soundpack for users to play with. In addition to this the new sound engine has allowed Audanika to add FX such as delay and reverb to SoundPrism’s patches, adding a new layer of depth to new and existing sounds.

The SoundPrism interface has also been redeveloped for this release and now features a piano keyboard display which allows users to see the notes they are playing on SoundPrism’s beautifully designed touchscreen interface. Users can now also shake their device to access a fullscreen version of the instrument which removes the menu options and allows for a wider range of notes. Additional features which have been added to SoundPrism 2.0 include retina display support for iOS 4 devices and multitasking, which will allow the instrument to run in the background whilst users are accessing other apps on their device. A YouTube video which demonstrates these new features and soundpacks can be found at the Audanika YouTube-Channel.

For existing users SoundPrism 2.0 comes as a free update for both standard and Pro versions from the iOS App store. If you’ve not yet tried out the app then you’ll be pleased to know that the standard version is still free whilst the Pro version, which allows users to control their keyboards, softsynths and FX on their PC/Mac via a wireless network or USB MIDI using the iPad Camera Connection Kit compatible MIDI connector, is available for $15.99/£9.49/12,99 EUR

SoundPrism has been downloaded over 200,000 times and both versions have scored full marks in app store reviews across the world, further proof that the app continues to inspire musicians and producers everywhere to interact with sound in an innovative new way.
