ARP 2600 Synthesizer Previously owned by BILLY COBHAM

via this auction

"This item was previously owned by world class drummer BILLY COBHAM and perhaps used by him or his traveling band. These items were put in my company’s storage warehouse by him and I ended up owning them. If you don’t know who he is and why he is famous READ ABOUT HIM HERE.

Known as the master of fusion jazz or jazz funk, he has toured as drummer for the likes of THE GRATEFUL DEAD, MILES DAVIS, CARLOS SANTANA, and too many others to list. He was one of the first to utilize electronic drum controllers and other early electronics, and still tours today."

MINI-SYNTHY by T. Danko M3 emthree

via this auction

Googlish description:

"That thing is called 'Mini-Synth' and I must really be extremely rare. It is probably something like an effect unit for guitar or something. Power supply must be installed as a 9V battery.

And how does that sound now? Difficult to describe. Is probably something simple like a synthesizer for guitar?

If you put into it when a guitar input and the whole thing connects to the amplifier, well, I'd say the guitar signal in such a way Square wave and converted into three separately controllable .... Broken octaves or so. Then there there's a hard-soft switches. Since I do not really know what you want, for me it sounds more like a loud-soft.

I think that was once intended as a substitute for synth-guitar bands.

The unit has a sturdy metal casing and looks pretty good, I would say almost as good as new. Perhaps what strange effect devices for collectors.

Another note for the fashion-conscious guitarists: You can wear the chic device at the belt! (At the back are hooks)"

See the T.Danko label below for more.

RMI DK-20 (USA) Digital Synthesizer...from 1980s

via this auction

"Rare very early digital synthesizer from 1981/2. Three seperate outputs ~ bass/solo & treble ~ in zones across the keyboard. Preset or user-change. Non-velocity basic polyphonic organ/clavinet/lute/bass tones with vibrato variants and decay/sustain features. Wired for 110vAC (Convertor to 220/240Vac supplied). Legs and top lid complete the package....legs collapse and spring-lock for transport. Casing made of tough PVC-type material. Weight about 50 Kgs. Mains cord has US plug.

HISTORY Made in USA by RMI (of 368X prog-rock fame). Imported by KK. There is evidence it was from a college. This would explain the near-mint condition. The DK-20 was RMI's attempt at digital synthesis; in 1981 this was the beginning of an age of synthesizers.....ARP/Moog/Oberheim to name a few more famous...."
