"You can download the pdf user manual here. It has Midi In, Out & Thru. It has 8 digital tone generators, and can play 16 notes at a time. Each tone generator has 6 operators. These FM operators can be arranged in one of 32 different ways. (Called FM algorithms.) Each operator gets its own ADSR Envelope. To make programming easier, a computer software graphical editor can be used. The TX-802 works fine with a free java application called JsynthLib, even on 64 bit Windows7. You can download it here: http://www.jsynthlib.org/"
"It has Midi In, Out & Thru. It has 2 main oscillators, and can play 24 notes at a time.(24 note polyphony) Each oscillator has 64 waveforms... There is a 32 band vocoder that can process an external audio signal. Every parameter is controllable via midi. The Software version is 3.0 , and the Latest Operating System software can be downloaded at: [link]. The instructions for installing the new OS into the synth are in the user manual. The synth is digital, but is set up like an analog synth: 2 VCO's, 2VCF's, 1VCA. There is a seperate ENV for the VCF and the VCA. There are 2 LFO's."

I decided to go for something that would make more sense digitally and so FM seemed the logical choice. I went for buttons rather than the usual ribbon controller which would probably make a physical version too expensive but is much easier to play."
"It is kind of the big brother to the Korg MS-20. It features several unusual features, including: scale noise, external audio processing, traveler control of filters (HP/LP w/ res), and much more. It also includes the beige vinyl cover for it (which it must have sat under, protected, for some time). This piece looks like it came straight out of a time capsule!"
