Korg Polsix Factory Patches Demo!

YouTube Uploaded by dzlvs8 on Nov 17, 2011

"Watch the end! The end is the sound effects bank. Which is awesome. I have owned a few Polysix's in my time and this one takes the cake by far. These patches are awesome. This polysix also has midi in installed AND I have the instructions on how to actually use it. It also has a new battery, most of the IC chips have been taken out, and put into a new board with IC sockets."

"This Korg Polysix has been to the Czech Republic twice for modification to be performed. The first time it was sent out, the battery was replaced, the polysix was recalibrated, and all of the ORIGINAL IC chips were taken out, tested, and reinstalled in serviceable sockets. This makes swapping out bad chips in the future VERY easy with no soldering involved and no risk of damaging the board. The second time this Polysix was sent to the Czech Republic, a Midi In kit was installed and all of the original factory presets were installed in the machine. Take a look at my video of this synthesizer to hear the factory sounds. I'm pretty sure you will be amazed at how awesome and varied the sounds are in the presets."

Metasonix R-54 Soy Sos demo 1
"Showing off some of the subtle and not so subtle tones of the Metasonix R-54.
Source is 3 sawtooth waves from the ARP 2600. Pittsburgh Modular VILFO and Timetable as clock and clock divider. Bottom horizontal row of the Tiptop Audio Z8000 is the sequencer for pitch to the ARP. First is manual sweeps of tuning, resonance and overdrive. Then adding in sample and hold from the Doepfer A-148 to filter tuning CV in. The trick for me is an attenuator for dialing in just the right amount of CV. Our kitty Lao (or Boyfriend as he is known) makes his very first video appearance!

Special thanks to Metasonix and Zerosum!"

Metasonix R-54 Soy Sos demo 2
"Source is ramp wave from the Bubblesound uLFO. MFB SEQ-01,Pittsburgh Modular Timetable and Doepfer A-166 Logic as clock and clock divider. 16 step vertical row of the Tiptop Audio Z8000 is the sequencer for pitch to the uLFO. First is manual sweeps of tuning, resonance and overdrive. Then adding in envelope from the Doepfer A-143-1 to filter tuning CV in. The trick for me is an attenuator for dialing in just the right amount of CV. Percussion voice is Z3000 FM'd with Harvestman Polivoks in self oscillation through 2 channels of the Make Noise QMMG (LPG and high pass) Our kitty Lao (or Boyfriend as he is known) makes his 2nd video appearance!"

Metasonix R-54 Soy Sos demo 3 vs the Geiger Counter!
"Digital wavetables battle against tube!
See previous descriptions....
Now with more BRUTAL!!!
This time uLFO triangle input level to WMD Geiger Counter varied through QMMG in LPG mode. This is sort of like digital waveshaping before the R-54."

Pittsburgh Modular TimeTable Soy Sos Demos

Pittsburgh Modular TimeTable Soy Sos demo 1
"The Pittsburgh Modular Timetable finally in my system!
The low kick like tone derived from the 2 output of the left/well behaved side. 2 badly behaved voices from the right B an C outputs. External switching of "mode" from the PittMod VILFO and internal feedback effecting "flip" (I think) This thing is crazy fun and has a million awesome little quirks for decades of rhythmic and random fun. Percussive voices made from ARP 2600, Z300, uLFO, QMMG and A-143-1.
More at pittsburghmodular.com"

Pittsburgh Modular TimeTable Soy Sos demo 2
"Similar to demo 1 with another voice added, plus a 4 stage sequenced bass line from the divide by 16 to the Z8000. I think this show how the Timetable is capable of generating a wide array of rhythmic variations."

Pittsburgh Modular TimeTable Soy Sos demo 3
"A bit more complex one involving 3 horizontal rows of the Tiptop Z8000 sequencer and CV 3 out to drive filter frequency of the percussion sound.
I switched both chips of the TimeTable for this one.
Channel 4 drives the clock of the bass sound
Channels B, C and D drive the other sounds
Adding percussion sound from trigger out C, then tonal sounds D then B."
