A Note From x0xi0

x0xi0 sells mod kits for x0xb0x. The following is a note from creator Brian Castro. Apparently there are knock offs of the x0xi0 box out there and Brian has been receiving support requests for them. Moving forward x0xi0 will only be offering support for kits purchased directly from their site.

via Brian of x0xi0
(thread on adafruit):

"I have been receiving requests for service on numerous of these synths that aren't mine. As I've mentioned, I have no problem with someone integrating my original published circuit designs into their product, but it should be clearly noted that these are not x0xi0's. It took me several years design and refine this product, and several years to build the brand reputation. I design pro audio electronics as a sole source of income. I have retail products coming in 2012 that are based on my x0xi0 designs.

The reputation of my companies is already taking a hit from these products that are not mine. I take pride in the quality of my kits and retail product and I am proud that they are designed and built in the USA using local vendors and only the best quality parts.

More so, I have been holding back the release of new product simply out of respect of those who are waiting for completed documentation for the x0xi0 custom build kits, and here we have someone trying to copy the design for which there isn't even a completed owners manual... then they get sent to me for support."

C-MOnSter - CMOS Based Polyphonic Synthesizer

"This is a keyboard controlled top octave synth that uses almost exclusively simple CMOS circuits to create and modify the sound. The full explanation is here."

C-MOnSter - CMOS Based Polyphonic Synthesizer

Uploaded by Cynosure48 on Dec 11, 2011

"This is the technical explanation of a CMOS based top octave synthesizer. Check out my other video for a sound demo. The synth uses mostly CMOS chips to generate a the top octave twice, then divides it to get the rest of the notes. The sound is then shaped and processed uses more CMOS circuits, before finally going through dual Wasp filters.

Lots of thanks to all the great people on the electro-music forum and in the chat room for answering all of my questions.

I do not have a schematic for the entire synth. I do have schematics for many of the individual circuits. Send me a message with the circuit you are looking for and I will share the schematic I used."

MIDIbox SD Card Polyphonic Sample Player

YouTube Uploaded by magneticstripper on Dec 12, 2011

"This is my Prototype build of a project designed by a gent named Lee. Many Props to Lee on an excellent device. Many additional Props going out to the Midibox crew for designing such a
robust core.

This 1st Demo shows some "on the fly" "beatbox dubbing" of the sample player.
All sound is coming off the sampler (with the exception of some high-hats,
from another unit). Very very snappy playback.
