Buchla 259e and 267e demo part 1

YouTube Published on May 7, 2012 by Oxix52

"This is a demo of just the 259e and 267e together. I also used the 207e, but any mixer can work. I ran the output of the 259e in to the top filter band of the 267e. The two band inputs are normaled so that a signal going in to the top filter also goes in to the bottom one. It doesn't work the other way around, though, bottom to top. I panned the two filters opposite each other to get a stereo effect."

"This is the rare pro spec stereo model. Flexible, and fun this makes lots of really interesting sounds and combinations. MIDI interface, plenty of inputs and outputs and built in stereo speakers allow you to compose anywhere without being connected to any other gear. This unit was made by the original Synsonics Corporation, before Mattel bought them and cheapened everything up.

It synthesizes the percussive sounds of the cymbal, snare drum, 2 different tom tom drums, and a bass drum. Additionally, three memories are provided to allow the storage of drum patterns.

The Synsonics Drums is powered by 6 C-cell batteries and has a 9 volt power supply input. A technique called multiplexing is used several times in the Synsonics Drums. In multiplexing, one line or group of lines is able to carry signals for use by different parts of the systems at different times.

Some of the features:
Headphone jack
RCA jacks for stereo output to an external amplifier
LED indicators
Record and playback, 3 memory locations
Snare, cymbal, tom tom, bass drum and other sounds
Use fingers or drum sticks

Complete with original box and cables as shown. Unit is in very good condition – looks good as shown and works GREAT!"

Chaotica as an Audio Source

YouTube Published on May 7, 2012 by MongoSynth

"This video shows Ian Fritz' Chaotica module being used as an audio source. The patch uses the X and Y outputs as audio streams (they also drive the o'scope) and the Z is used with DUSG to generate an envelope of sorts. The rate control is fairly high (hence the audio output). A pair of LFOs are driving the rate and gain. In addition I periodically twiddle the knobs. The volume is low at some points and but quite loud at others, so be careful...."
