"Moog Opus 3 with the original box, original manuals, and original power cord. The synth is 100% functional. One switch is slightly scratchy but works fine once switched. Overall it is quite clean for its age and is unique in that it has the documentation & box!"

Vintage EML 100 for Sale - Audio Demo

"There's only been 100-150 of these ever made but this one is in perfect functional condition. It was fully serviced in 2007 and has no mis-triggering keys, dirty pots or issues. Most of these that sell online have issues or are beat up. It was also modded to open up the filter past 101 capabilities and another cool mod is that the bottom pot of the osc mixer it goes from white to OSC 1 now so you don't have to patch OSC 1 into the filter mixer. The filter is also different, better IMHO than the 101 as you can sweep from LP to HP but then you can sweep through BR and back to LP which you cannot do on the 101. Also as opposed to the 101, there are seperate audio outputs for each filter mode. These then can be mixed together for awesome results.

Cosmetically there are some dings on the blue paint and wood case from patch cords and the lower pictures show the slightly chipped wood case. There's a reason they switched from the blue paint. But as opposed to most EML products in a case the original handle, clasps and power/connecting cord are still intact.

I outline the differences between the 100 and 101 on the EML 100 VSE page. Some of the functions left off the 101 after the 100 are actually very cool.

A brief demo of the item with a drone, playing it, showing off its microtonal capabilities and patching an envelope follower and putting a DR-55 through it is here. The drone in various forms takes up most of the first 10 minutes.

Right under the title on eBay you'll find a link to currently eight product reviews on the ION. This is the first time I've noticed them on eBay. I'm not seeing them for all listings though.

"Everything seems to work well: I checked out the all of the potentiometers and the switches and all are functional. Only the Noise/Ext pot in the mixer is a bit scratchy near the lower end – very likely some cleaning spray would help that. I also checked out all the external connections and they both send and receive CV/trig as they should; the Filter In and Audio In both work appropriately.

The cosmetics overall are good (see the pics). There are two basic cosmetic flaws:

There is a drilled hole in the upper right panel, where someone might have had a switch or wanted to put an 'ON' indicator LED? I don't know, I received it this way. You could install a switch there (it would be a good place for a 'Invert Filter Envelope' toggle switch), or you could use a hole plug, or just some electrician's tape to cover it up.

The pitch wheel has an internal crack. However, this seems purely cosmetic: the wheel itself is in solid shape.

Now, on the chassis is a high serial number (9270), which would usually indicate that this has one of the dreaded 'membrane' keyboards. However, this keyboard does NOT have the membrane keyboard, it has the superior J-wire design. I know because I installed the J-wire keyboard here. It was from my other Pro One with an earlier serial number (I put that Pro One into a Synthwood case and used instead the keys from a dead Juno-106). To reiterate, the synthesizer in this auction has the J-wire keyboard, (see the pics) and I just replaced the bushings and cleaned up the wires and buss bar, so it's working nicely.

I also recapped the unit, removing all old electrolytics and tantalum caps, and replacing with new electrolytics.

Everything is working, but due to this being vintage analog electronics, all sales are final. I do guarantee that it won't arrive DOA."

"using the serge modular sequencers on a very early paper face system. its just tuned noise, but the switches on the sequencers make playing it fun. see http://myblogitsfullofstars.blogspot.co.uk/"
