EMW-300 first tests
EMW-300 first tests from EMW - Electronic Music Works on Vimeo.
One of the first tests of the assembled EMW-300 prototype. There is no external effects, what seems to be a delay effect is a 2ms trigger pulse that was used to modulate the VCO frequency. Is has a very powerfull and raw sound and is VERY fun to play with. The video was recorded in a hurry on my home LAB with my iPhone, sorry for that

MacBeth micromacs off to Assembly

"This is one of the largest consignments for assembly that I have done to date! Seen here- box loads of component parts for 100 micromac-r units and 150 micrmac-d units! This is what goes out today- my suppliers Farnell and Rapid Electronics are to send out yet more to the assembly plant!"
"You can even see the micromac-r at the top- it's going to the assembly plant too- they are building the units completely right down to the faceplates and knobs!"
Someone asked about the parts supplier and Ken answered:
"I use Farnell and Rapid as my primary parts suppliers- apart from those parts that get manufactured abroad. RS comes next if anything is missing. The quantity orders that I place bring things to a very economical purchase point- well under the catalogue break points that you must read on RS and Mouser. It also depends on what your buying! If mouser haver a greater range of stock- which I doubt- I probably don't use these parets anyway! I've found Farnell ultra speedy...and Rapid...well, rapid!"
I love these posts because they give us an insight as to what happens behind the scenes. I think it is great that Ken and others for that matter, share this with us on Facebook.
