See the seller's other items for some other interesting instruments.
Be sure to read the full description as always. Working in this case means it actually plays which is extremely rare for these. See the Novachord label at the bottom of this post for more including the Novachord Restoration project by Phil Cirocco who is known for his own modular systems and work on ARP synthesizers including restoration and the ARP Lumina upgrades.

Description via the auction: "The introduction of the Hammond Novachord, the world's first polyphonic synthesizer, at the 1939 World's Fair is a major milestone in electronic keyboard musical instrument history. With over 100 vacuum tubes inside, this synthesizer has a thick, harmonically rich sound that you can't get elsewhere. The instrument is incredibly rare (only 500 are said to have ever been made, and who knows how many remain in existence). Commercial sample libraries of this instrument alone cost $300; that's how rare, complex, and musically useful this instrument is!

This Hammond Novachord is in better functional shape and cosmetic shape than all three of the Hammond Novachords we have sold in the past. It actually plays! It doesn't play perfectly though, and has some minor issues, but it probably will be an easier repair than 90% of the Hammond Novachords out there, if you can find one. It is sold as-is, no returns, because obviously the buyer will need to spend many hours repairing it in order to have it play perfectly. Cosmetically, it has scratches on the sides and back that might merit it being refinished, but from the front it looks very nice.

Our movers took the pictures shown below of the Novachord. They have moved many fragile and expensive musical instruments for us and received our express instructions on how to properly dismantle a Novachord for transport. They dismantled it into its three main parts: (1) lid, (2) metal chassis, and (3) bottom half/base, in order to get it out of the door of the house we bought it from, where it had sat for the past several decades. We have done this dismantling before with our last few Novachords and will be putting the Novachord back together as soon as it arrives on August 22 (it came from the east coast of the USA).

If you are in California, we can offer free delivery if you buy this before August 22. The shipping prices listed here are just estimates. Shipping to other locations will be determined by the actual zip code of the destination."

"Related Items:
The Moon 592 consists of three modules: m592, m592i and m592o

Manufacturer Description:
The M 592 REVERSIBLE MODULATION MATRIX System combines six attenuator-units, consisting of three elements each:

– 12 position input selector to chose one of 12 signal inputs
– reversible attenuator, which attenuates or amplifies the input signal in a range from -200% to +200% (or ±100% depending on the jumper setting on the module PCB); in zero-position the signal is suppressed completely
– 12 position output selector to chose one of 12 signal outputs

The complete modulation matrix consists of three (or in one special case two, see below) modules – the central active control unit M 592 and the sub-modules M 592i/592o with 12 in- and 12 output-jacks.

The inputs are connected via switching jacks: one single modulation source can – without any extra patchcords – be routed to several different outputs at once via independent attenuators. If no plug is inserted at input 1 a fixed 5 volt voltage is present. By changing the setting of the jumpers on the back of the input module these connections can be interrupted.

If more than one input signal is routed to an output, these voltages are summed in the output module.

Using the connectors on the rear of the in/ out submodules, internal pre-wiring is possible."

The Deathlehem Machine Explanation

Don't miss 4:12 (potentially nsfw language). Start at 3:45 if you do forward to it though.

"Whoops. This video became ummm ... 21 minutes longer than I THOT it would! Lol. 26m50 of myself explaining the modules in my modular synth - The Deathlehem Machine - to the chap that had requested it a few days ago.
Yeah there're some side turns here and there; out for a beer and some window shopping and all that what not but ... I hope it'll give a brief miniature basic sorta idea, of every module in my modular, at the mo'. :)

Now - what year is it now? I know this thing is going to take for ruddy ever, to upload. :o Lol"

"Here is a Russian Formanta Polivoks Duophonic Synthesizer that was recently in for repair at The Analog Lab in NYC. It is a harsh sounding nasty beasty. Its basically impossible to get a sweet sound out of this thing, so we decided to go with a brash piece by Modest Mussorgsky...Hooray Russia!

The guts of this thing are also pretty solid. Soviet era parts all over the place with plug-in circuit boards. The schematics for this synth are actually pretty decent. Strange grounding system and output connectors. The Polivoks just feels cheap, like you might break it by playing it, but damn, it can get in your face!
