Improv with Ultranova & Roland SH32

YouTube Published on Aug 26, 2012 by hdebbache2000

"Hey there, this is my latest improv. A lot of things have changed since my last appearance, gear & all. I am trying to adapt my gear to better integrate into my DAW workflow (Ableton Live), and because of this I have acquired an Ultranova. The Roland's time in my studio is counted though...

Other than that there are some sampled loops playing, a Synplant VA VST(controlled via android tablet), and a Hartmann Neuron (AKAI LPK25 mini keyboard)."

LUKE'S ANGER - LIVE DSI Tempest & Octatrak

LUKE'S ANGER - LIVE IN DA COUNTRYSIDE 25.8.12 by Luke's Anger
"Rawkus live techno muzak!

Laptop not included!"

"I’m using a sampler (Elektron Octatrack) and analogue drum machine/synth (DSI Tempest). I tend to write tracks separately on each machine, over 4 patterns. The Octatrack (OT) sends MIDI clock and transport to to the Tempest. Tempest audio out goes to OT inputs, this enable me to record, loop, add f.x and mangle the Tempest on-the-fly. Finally the mixed signal goes out of the OT to the mixer and that’s it, well simple. The best thing of all it fits into a Pelican 1510 (airline carry-on approved, apart from Ryan Air - wankers!)."

Dementia Labs on eBay

Inside Hans Zimmer's Studio

via Stuck in Customs where you'll find the full gallery and write-up. Mmm... modular walls.

"Hans loves technology, and he didn’t get serious about composing until he had computers. All of the software tools have helped him to do amazing things. Even though much of his youth was infused with music, he did not go about composing the way others did. He waited and brought a unique background and started relatively “late” in the game. Straight to digital. He certainly knows how to play instruments, but from what he was saying, he never got into the “composing” elements until computers were sophisticated enough to enable him to take things to a new order of magnitude."

Serge Modular vid #22

YouTube Published on Aug 26, 2012 by Phisynth

"Warning ; potentially boring and musically uninteresting ;-). And a crappy vid too...but :
The very first experiments using Max/Msp, Expert Sleepers ES-3 + ES-5, Lemur for iPad and the Serge Modular.
No musical pretentions here, but it looks like this combo opens up a whole new universe in terms of control and interaction between Digital and Analogue worlds !"
