Music Machine para Spectrum

YouTube Published on Aug 28, 2012 by Hispasonic

"Music Machine es una interfaz MIDI/Sampler para Spectrum, "lo más parecido a una workstation para ordenador que teníamos hace 25 años", según nos cuenta Luis Torrents de Midimusik, una de las tiendas de tecnología musical con más solera de España."

Googlish:
"Music is a MIDI Machine / Sampler for Spectrum," the closest thing to a computer workstation we had 25 years ago, "Luis tells us Midimusik torrents, one of the store's most authentic music technology in Spain."

OP-1 Acid House Track Demo - Teenage Engineering

YouTube Published on Aug 28, 2012 by djthomaswhite

"In anticipation of the accessory event tomorrow (8/28/12) in NYC I got deep into my OP-1 on the kitchen table tonight. Everything you here aside from my voice came from the default OP-1 synth engines and drum samplers. My voice was sampled into the drum sampler. All music parts were laid down to the 4 tape tracks with a combination of live playing, endless and finger sequencers and some manual control over volume for fades.

This song is dedicated to all of those folks who think smartphones can do the same thing the OP-1 can. Maybe they can, maybe they can do more, but the OP-1 is way cooler to put in your pocket. People always ask me if it is a banana, LOL JK. Sure the OP-1 is $800, but iPhones are $600 or more if you don't sign the service agreement. It is almost the same cost and I have yet to see a smartphone with midi in/out, stereo audio in/out, fm radio, tactile keys, buttons and knobs, and a speaker this loud. It's not for everyone, sure I get it... you like free (cough...pirated) software and PC's. More power to ya folks, but I like it quirky and the if the team at TE get any quirkier we may be playing electric wind chimes with spaghetti noodles and opening and closing filters with kites and string like old benjie franklin did way back when.

This is a humble example of using the OP-1 for what it is good at... having fun with music. It's raw, it's portable, and it is super genius to play with. I speak geek and the op-1 gets that. Buy one, borrow one, or just go to your local music store. No YouTube video does this thing justice. I stand behind it all the way and look forward to sharing ideas and best practices with you at http://ohpeewon.com forums if you dare to get involved and think outside the laptop/phone/pad.

This music piece is inspired by many old house and acid house tracks, particularly Acid Thunder by Fast Eddie but my rendition is way off base from his classic take and my notes are not even the same. As recorded here it is 100% original if not a cover and the creation of me. I give myself permission to use this clip on YouTube as the owner of said recording."

Breadboarded FM Lunetta Style Synth

YouTube Published on Aug 27, 2012 by centerofmind

"This monster is completely patchable. You don't know what kind of sound you will get until you try out a patch. You can modulate to your hearts content to get white noise, radio freq, vowel like, square wave sounds. There is a sine/saw/square wave LFO, 4-channel mixer, and the ability to plug your guitar or mic directly in to modulate with the synth sound. It's possible to create complex melodies with the right wiring."

1978 ARP 2600 VINTAGE ANALOG SYNTHESIZER 2601 SN 36200837

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated. via this auction
Tons of pics at the auction and below including two ad scans and some of the inside. Check out the solder traces. Auction description: "For your consideration is this vintage 1978 ARP 2600 series "2601" analog synthesizer and matching "3620" keyboard. This particular set, both with matching serial numbers (0837), is in very good all original condition and includes the original cases, owner's manual, patch cables, and the original power cable. The ARP 2600 is considered the absolute benchmark in compact analog semi-modular synthesis. Extremely versatile, and capable of producing a seemingly indefinite amount of both classic and modern synth sounds, the 2600 has become the standard by which other synths are measured. Some sellers ask upward of $9,000.00 for comparable synths, but we decided to offer this example to the highest bidder, with a $.01 Minimum, No Reserve, Free USA Shipping, and discounted Worldwide delivery! So place a bid now, because this synth will be sold to the highest bidder... regardless of price!

Played, and made famous, by a veritable who's who of modern music, the ARP 2600 can be heard on albums by: John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Joy Division, Kraftwerk, Frank Zappa, Herbie Hancock, Steve Miller, The Beastie Boys, Cat Stevens, The Who, Depeche Mode, U2, and an ever-expansive alumnus of artists whom have featured this amazing synth in their music.

Though not in pristine cosmetic condition, this is a fantastic specimen for a player looking to acquire a fully functional unit. It was recently purchased from the original owner, who actually owned 3 different 2600s, and was maintained and serviced by him throughout his lengthy ownership. At one point, the synth was mounted alongside his others in a fabricated rack unit, but to do so, it required that he added (4) small square perforations through the corners of the front panel. Aside from that, some of the fastening hardware was misplaced and replaced with alternate washers. One voltage processor slider is missing the plastic tip, and another is broken off, both of which function correctly. The 3620 keyboard is in great shape, works perfectly, and has nicely aligned tempered action.

This last version of the 2600 is rare, and while some prefer the sound of the early examples, this final generation was result of stabilizing some of the more inconsistent modules. This also makes it practical for studio use, and plug-in-and-play activity."

Moog Polymoog Synthesizer SN 0596

"This Polymoog is in fair cosmetic condition. all keys and buttons are present. Lights illuminate when plugged in. Synth doesn't seem to function properly. It is being listed AS-IS. May just need a quick cleaning or serious repair. this is the real Polymoog synth, not just the keyboard, allowing access to all parameters. what you see is what you get... Located in Santa Cruz CA for pick up. Delivery to SF bay area or equal distance may be available for an additional cost..."
