Synesthexia - more sounds of the Elka Synthex

Published on Dec 24, 2012 by wavebox2011

"Not really a composition, but a collage of some quick'n'dirty sound experiments on the Elka Synthex.

Audio: As in "Synthenoxe part 1.0", all sounds except for the drums have been created on the Synthex. No Hammond Organs or Minimoogs have been harmed. :)

Video: Purely experimental; some sliced up footage from public domain and creative commons sources. Hopefully better than just a black screen. :-)

Enjoy!"

"Analog Dustbusters unite !? not really, but some cleaning does a precious music machine good.

Trivia: the Elka Synthex is one of the few synthesizers with a fan... not that sort of fan, I mean ventilator. it regulates the temperature on the power supply.
for once, the hotblooded Italian is more cool than it's counterparts. on a Roland Jupiter-8 you could almost get your fingers burned on the power supply's radiator. especially after some hot grooves. :-D"

A Visit to the Mattson Mini Modular Studio - Pics Part 2

As promised here is the second set of pics from my visit to George Mattson's studio. We had some particularly good wine. :)

This set was taken with an iPhone 4S. You can catch my previous post with pics taken on a Canon Rebel T2i here. A final post with video will follow when I have some time to upload it - it ate up a 4G SD card.

P.S. Giving this one the holidays label.  The Mattson EML all lit up is about as close as it gets to a synthmas tree imo.  Note the Mini Mattson Modular to it's right.  Enjoy the pics.  :)  Some of these make for great wallpaper.

via the listing: "A PAIA Proteus 1 analog synthesizer. Unit was well wrapped up and is in amazing condition.

A very unusual and rare treat from the ongoing keyboard collector’s estate sale.

This thing should be in a keyboard museum, I understand there are only about 60 of these

I plugged this item in and it turned worked for about 2 minutes and then went dead.

All led’s on front panel light up and the digital display cycled through the programs

I was able to twist knobs and play sounds on the keyboard before the system went dead

Keyboard is in great shape, very level , feels like bushings are in great shape

Rare model with the computer systems interface on the back. I checked the fuse and its not that, you can hear the hum of a transformer through the case. Probably a power supply issue but I am not opening it up.

A very rare original Proteus Calibration and Users Manual is included"
