Yamaha CS-10 "Cragflight" (1979)

"100% handmade without any sequencer. Recorded 1979 just with two cassette-decks (ping-pong-recording).

Linke Seite trocken, rechte Seite Effekt, bedingt durch o.g. Aufnahmeverfahren und Mono-Analog-Delay. Unverändert direkt von Cassette digitalisiert, keine Rauschunterdrückung, kein EQ. Ausschnitt aus einem längeren Stück. Melodiespiel improvisiert und im Finger-Suchsystem. Klavierspielen habe ich mir erst später autodidaktisch angeeignet."

Roland CR-5000, Roland SH-2 Minimal Synth Demo

Published on Dec 27, 2012 by Jordan Passmore

"Here is a recording of me playing the Roland SH-2 analog synth and Roland CR-5000 analog drum machine. The CR-5000's trigger out is connected to the external in on the SH-2, allowing the synth to sort of pulse with the drum machine.

The drum machine is ran through an analog chorus pedal while the synth is being ran through an analog delay. Both were mixed on probably the "worst" mixer I have ever heard; an early Bogen transformer line mixer. You can hear the distortion very well on the drums but it is also distorting the synth as well. The overall mix was treated lightly through an Ibanez SDR-1000+ reverb."

"New Journey" - Performed entirely on the Korg Krome 73 - ©2012 Andy Barrow

Published on Dec 27, 2012 by MrRidgebackman

"Hello one and all

This is a piece of music I have been working on for a fair few days now. The title is quite appropriate, as it is a hint at what is to come to this channel. There will be a few subtle changes and some more obvious ones (yep, I am going to get lessons on how to play keyboard:-)

All of the five tracks were played and recorded on the Korg Krome and then mixed, tweaked and panned to make this my first real Workstation piece of music. Since this video was completed (waiting for the Slim Phatty to tune up), I connected a MIDI cable to the Slim Phatty from the Korg Krome and had both synths play the bass line (of course the SP won the Bass battle, but sadly never made it to this video). It is not that hard to work with and connect other synths or devices from the Krome and vice-versa.

I have to say that considering I hate menus, the Krome is pretty easy to navigate through and use, even without reading all of the instructions. Just watch a few of the Tutorial vids from Korg and you will be up and running in no time. Yes you need to spend the time, and time does fly by pretty quick, so ensure you are not working the next day before you head off into Sequencing Heaven on a Workstation...They should really warn you, as it does get rather addictive. Thanks Korg for making me so really bloody tired at work!!!! :-)

So this piece created, conceived, produced and mixed all in one box.... Love it, I hope you do to,

Many thanks for watching.
